Today I had a man come into my job and introduce himself and say he was the business contractor. We had a friendly small talk about how if I needed anything I could just ask him.
Then he started talking to the executive director of the company who’s an older lady and some other people came in. After they all left he stayed behind where I was at the front of the building and sat on the couch in the living room. I’m the receptionist so I stay up front. I looked up from my computer and caught him looking over at me for a few seconds until he said something and politely asked me to do him a favor.
I got up and he handed me his phone and asked me to take a picture of him while he was sitting on the couch. When I took the picture he didn’t smile in the first one and kinda closed his eyes. Then in the second one he smiled. The building is very very nice and upscale. Him wanting to take a picture in the living room wouldn’t be weird because it’s nice but he wanted to take one on the couch with nothing in the background. I wouldn’t have questioned it if he wanted to take one in the middle of the living room with the place in the background but I don't know why he felt comfortable enough asking me to do that lol.
After I was done he asked for my name again and said it was nice meeting me. I don't know that was so weird to me lol. Why would he ask me to do this and why would he wait until everyone left?

He probably wanted an excuse to strike up a conversation, and so waited until you two were alone (so you couldn't deflect it on to someone else), then asked you to do something unusual (so you'd remember it), but not something that would give offense or put you off.
He wanted a picture.
I mean clearly. But why he wanted one on the couch and me to take it is the question.
You were there? Why does it matter?
Was there someone else that could have taken the picture? So it's this big deal and weird that he didn't use the background you would have chose? Ugh...
