Talking for two months now and no talk of a first date yet?

I got matched with this guy online about two months ago on a non-mainstream app which seemed promising. After about a month of messaging back and forth, we moved to texting.

Not a ton of flirting going on, he’s very kind and respectful. He was upfront about being a single dad and his kid being his priority, which I understand fully.

His reply times vary between a couple of hours to a day or two. I got the impression maybe that means he’s not that interested so thought it would just eventually die down and stop but it hasn’t.

Is it safe to assume he’s still interested since he’s still replying? Would he continue to reply if he had no intention of going out at least once? He’s been very upfront about what he wants and it seems we are looking for the same thing, but there’s not much else happening.

Should I say something and suggest a date, or should I wait for him? Don’t really know what to do here, but I appreciate any advice!

Now he did say the kid is his top priority, so could just be he got a busy sched and hard to plan something solid. But still, at least one chill Netflix n smoke sesh in two months ain't too much to ask ya feel me?

At this point I'd say shoot your shot sis, nothin wrong with bein proactive. Slide in the DMs like "yo, been cool chattin but tryna see if the vibe the same in person too. Free this weekend to grab a bite or somethin?"

See how he responds forreal. If still vague excuses after that then his interest prob ain't as real as he claim. But could just need a little nudge to lock somethin in, ya never know.

I wanted to go the traditional route thinking he'd suggest it first, because in my experience they normally do. I don't mind bringing it up but I don't want it to be a habit of me making the first move for everything if this continues, so I guess that's why I haven't said anything.
