I did this exact thing in the classroom when I was 10 years old. The girl did not appreciate this very much.

At the same age, I also tried stepping really close to a girl during swimming lessons while we were queueing up for an exercise. This time, a different girl told me off for this innocent manoeuvre.

These things made me realize that I had to refine my approach.

I realize I misunderstood the question. As a kid I provoked a physical collision with the girl when we were scrambling to leave the classroom.

The behavior you actually meant I displayed later as a teenager, especially around age 15. I would roam the area around the girl's home on my bike, for example. This had even less of an effect. It sometimes helped me focus my energy to actually ask her out later.

At 15 it was tough. One girl agreed to continue dancing lessons with me, even though she had planned to stop dancing and focus on horse riding. I would gladly have changed places with her fiery steed then! However, she soon had a boyfriend who was already 19.

Once I brought flowers to a girl for her 16th birthday. Her mother was impressed and invited me in for tea and cake. It's a pity the girl did not respond as favorably as her mother.

At 17 I got together with my first girlfriend, but this time she had made the first move.

My son is not really interested in dating at 15 and that may be for the better. This early awakening can lead to much heartbreak. After all we still look like children at the time, but the girls already look half like women and half like elves.

I find it difficult to believe that most single people who see someone interesting don't do this!
