So I’ve been dating a guy. I genuinely really like him and he’s told me he likes me. Before our first date we were texting for a few days and when we went out we had a great time.

On our second date a week later we spent the day together doing various things. When we were at his place chilling he said ‘I love you but I know you won’t say it back any time soon’, which I wouldn’t because it feels too early to say that. I do really like him a lot and we get on well, but was this abit of an odd thing to say? I’m not sure if he just meant it in a more casual way. He said it several times.

Wow. The second date? That is way too early to be able to tell someone you love them. That is kinda a red flag for me. It is moving way too quickly and I would wonder his intentions of saying that when you two probably don't know everything about each other yet. That is the question he needs to be asking himself. How can I love someone that I don't even know inside and out yet? I don't think it is possible and my mind would automatically go to he wants to get me into bed.

2nd date & you're "chilling" at his house. You two likely had sex.

He doesn't "love" you literally. You're strangers. If you indeed had sex he loves the fact that you've few standards, little self respect & are good for cheap sex. Saying he "loves" you is the easiest & simpliest way to ensure he'll continually have cheap easy sex.
