What should I do when my partner is mad at me and now gives me the silent treatment?

He is mad at me for setting boundaries about social media usage. I asked him to be more mindful about what he posts online because it could affect our relationship negatively. I am not comfortable with oversharing things publicly about our personal life. I told him to stop posting for the sake of our relationship and my well being.

Then he locked himself in our room. He doesn't even want to leave the room and still not responding to my text that i sent to him. He is completely silent and not doing anything ever since

Relationships (healthy ones anyhow) have a series of compromises and boundaries. This is how we decide if somebody is a good fit for us. Do they respect our wishes? Can they adjust their expectations to be realistic & respectful. Are they advancing in their life or stagnant and living like they are stuck in an emotional, financial, and life plateau.



My work means I have zero social media. You will not find Intel about me online. I share my exciting news and family story with people directly. There is NOTHING wrong with not wanting your personal life converted into bait for clicks and likes.


This is the consequence of dating a boy, not a man. Men aren’t stuck to their phones - they are out there living life and making things happen for themselves and those they provide for.


Might be time to seriously evaluate what this boy is doing in your life.

First, It’s really important for you to not react to his pouting. He’s deliberately trying to punish you. Secondly, I think you ask yourself what you’re really getting out of being with him. His actions are childish and immature and don’t deserve attention.

Give him the silent treatment back. If he doesn't contact you you shouldn't be contacting him either. If this lasts more than three days he's no longer your boyfriend.
