Is sex always on a guy's mind no matter who they're talking to?

For the past couple of months I've been having some friendly contact with a guy. Although he sometimes seems to be keeping his distance, he is contrarily the one to keep the conversation going and shows interest in my life. Even after the parking lot has gone empty, we often still remain a little while longer to talk.

Last night, we were hanging out at the gym and while I was talking to him, he suddenly grabbed onto the punching bag hanging beside us, and started dry-humping it. It caught me off guard, and he could clearly see the surprise on my face. We laughed about it then he jokingly mentioned he could see the surprise in my eyes.

Right afterwards, while we were still in our conversation, he started taking off his shirt, then changed into different clothes. Although I have seen more men changing while in conversation, it was very odd to me he'd do this right after he had his little... moment with the punching bag.

When we left, he mentioned he thought of me as an odd person. Then joked about being odd himself. Asked for my age and was surprised to learn I was younger than he'd imagined.

Thing is, what surprised me most by these acts and interactions is that this man is in a relationship and I do not have the sense that he is in any way interested or attracted to me. Would it be an extreme level of comfort or should I be a little more concerned? Lol.

Depends on a lot things. Yes it’s true that men are more visual and impulsive. But not always.

It is also possible for a man to appreciate a woman for being beautiful and NOT have that particular thought going through our mind. Similar to how someone can appreciate a beautiful work of art, a man can appreciate a beautiful female without having impure thoughts.

But people usually assume the worst about men in these scenarios.

I spend a lot of time with men throughout the week, and honestly, most of them are very decent, respectful people.

If anything, the amount of thoughtfulness that goes into many interactions I've encountered has given me a very safe and supported feeling over the past few years.

But as for the question, I've come to notice I get confused with this person a lot, since his behaviour sometimes seems to display different desires than his mouth tells.
We're friendly, but I don't want to cause a problem in his current relationship.

I'm kinda wondering if it might cause any trouble if I keep interacting with him. As long as it's meant as a lighthearted gesture then it shouldn't be too bad I guess.

The problem is there is a minority of bad guys who give all men a bad name. Then there are larger subset of guys who aren’t bad but occasionally slip up and say/do something stupid (but aren’t really bad guys or a real threat).

Most women do have strong intuition about people and about men. When you get a bad feeling about someone do not disregard it but also make sure to put it into context. For example a guy you don’t find attractive glanced at you for 5 seconds. Does he keep looking? Did he say anything? Does walk up to you or does he keep on with his business?

A few weeks ago I noticed a young woman in the gym who was wearing interesting artistic Tshirt. I also admit she was young and attractive. She did catch my eye. But truth was I was genuinely curious what her tshirt said.

Anyway by coincidence she had to use the machines right next to me including the one I was on. And one point I had to let her know my machine was available. I then just calmly said (while smiling respectfully) “hey I was looking at you because I was curious what your tshirt said. But I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable.” To my relief she smiled back at me and said “oh that’s totally fine no problem”. I nodded and smiled again and then just went on my business. I didn’t look talk to her any more that evening nor look over in her direction.

Sadly I don’t feel comfortable continuing a conversation with her in the gym nowadays. However I also felt relieved that she wasn’t uncomfortable. But given how things are and also I am least 10-15 years older than her I just can’t take any chances nowadays.

It sucks. Really sucks to be honest that this is how things are nowadays.

No! Its not. So many ignorant people, saying yes! I am guessing the answers are from women. Grow up. Men want a real connection and love. Ignorant women or narcissistic women, often say "men only want one thing" ajh herrr derrr.. pull your head out of your ass. Well, women, only want attention and validtion and they are gold diggers.
