Why do men not care what a woman does for a living, but women do?

Question

I've met a few men and they have never had a problem that I don't have a degree. They liked me for me. Why don't more women give men who have a blue collar job or don't have a degree a chance?

As a women I understand you want to date maybe marry a man that is Financial set, especially if you want to raise kids. I see some women just like a man for what kind of "lifestyle" he can provide and not so much about security or Love...🙈🙊

Money, for the most part, isn't really "necessary", when it comes down to it. Religion will have you believe that, marriage (unnecessary, in reality), and kids (also, by definition, unnecessary), are what makes someone happy. I don't desire either.

However, if you plan to actually survive, you do kind of need to be in a house, etc.. So, while you don't need marriage and kids, you do need to be able to sustain your own life. Right now, men, tend to be paid more on the dollar for the same jobs, unfortunately, so, it's made to sound like men are usually the "bread winners"

The other problem is, too many women these days are only interested in the arts. Big Big Theory touched on that. They did a whole episode about how not enough women are interested in the sciences, usually due to education level, and interest.

You have sites like ONLYFANS, where models are make millions, just for posting photos of themselves, while scientists are making almost nothing, trying to better our lives

"Her money" rarely benefits us anyway. I'm also completely unimpressed with anyone's job unless they build shelters for rescue kittens or something like that. You're an attorney? Great, just like the other 1000 people in any metropolitan yellow pages. You're an engineer? Great, I've hired 8 before, so they must not be THAT rare. You're the emergency essential designated person on the task force who is the expert in gender studies? Haha... no... no that one I'd enjoy for a while until I ran out of jokes. I'm not sure actually if I'd run out of jokes, but "for a while" at least. Oh you majored in mayan poetry? What kind of discount does walmart offer their employees? Your job is what you do 40 hours a week. If that's how you define yourself, well, I'm sorry that's your life. As long as she spends less than she makes that's really all I'm looking at, and eventually her credit score if we get serious.

Men definitely care! Many men are too insecure to handle a woman doing better, but all can handle a woman doing far worse. It boosts their ego to be the better one. Say you're a business owner, CEO, Landlord, Investor, etc. and watch all the broke ones run away.

All women don't care either. I've heard a lot of men say, "I just care if she's doing something and enjoying what she does." Many women have the same mentality. He doesn't have to be rich, but he does have to be doing something. At least be able to pay for their own stuff and contribute a little. I don';t think most people are asking for much. That's why most poor men and women have been in relationships.

Also, I've tried avoiding discussing what we each do for work on dates. Men will definitely bring it up every time and pressure me to find out. They care.

Most men I know, have a degree but very rarely work in the field of their degree lol.
Also most women I know share the same situation.

In many countries in Europe having official education is somehow needed for certain positions in certain companies. So we in general quite often own a degree.

But at the end of the day it doesn't matter. What matters is, if you are able to pay your bills, if you are independent. No one checks your savings, number of owned flats or houses. Those are things we can achieve together if we care enough about it.

I really don't care much if someone has a degree or doesn't have it... (unless you're my doctor and surgeon lmao) because I know very well that it is not the only way to achieve financial stability

I don't have any degree myself... but I do have a certain financial stability, and personally I have never been "denied" a chance before because of this

also true that I've never really met a woman who cared this much or, not this way about money... and also true... every woman I've met, has been financially stable by herself

so yeah, different experiences for different people... that is for sure sure

Most men still want to be the provider. They just want a nice girl to be their partner and make a life/family together.

Most women want a man who can be the provider to settle down and have a family with. She may or may not put career as her priority.

Men are  not special just for existing.  They are special off their agency and a career is often the #1 method of agency (what it resembles and provides for the woman). Agency also tied into the special talents and personality a man has.  Women on the other hand  are much more special than they realize just for existing.  Their sexuality in itself is valued in this world.  Now that doesn’t mean a woman who is a completely lazy pos and/or has a horrible personality is going to be tolerated by men. Men do look beyond her looks and presence. But nowhere near the extent by how women judge men beyond their very presence. Not even close.

Well, a blue collar job may well pay more than a white collar one, but in answer to the question, when women do that, it’s because of hypergamy, including when single moms look for a guy to take care of her and her kids.
Some smart women look at potential rather than the current situation. Some very dumb women go for irresponsible guys who will never be able to contribute to supporting a family (these women are sometimes the ones looking hardest for a guy to support them).

Guys generally can’t be that picky.

Men don’t care what women do for a living. It isn’t that we “don’t care” in a negative or critical way, it simply doesn’t factor into our arithmetic on whether we actually enjoy being around you, talking to you, and being in a relationship with you.

In other words the vast majority of men would be perfectly content with whether you’re a waitress, or a nurse, or a teacher, or a forensic scientist, or a doctor. Our general response to your career?

because society has brainwashed men that they should be "providers". but in this day in age, the single breadwinner household simply no longer works. Most male breadwinners are usually one of the most miserable, stressed out guys you would ever met. Its easy for single men without kids to say a woman's money doesn't matter. You answered your own question. It's nature. Women are vulnerable because they have babies and raise them. That is a full time job. In order to have a successful family --procreation and survival of the species is nature's number one priority-- women need a man who can go out and hunt and bring home the Woolly Mammoth for the family to eat. Human beings are programmed with this drive in their DNA from millions of years of evolution. Men want a woman who is a good bearer and nurturer of children and keeper of the home and women want a man who can bring home the bacon and protect the family. Women are built from the atomic level up for their role and men for theirs.

For men the things women look at in men that make him more attractive aren’t what make her attractive to us. I don’t know if that’s an innate thing that as men we’re supposed to be the providers, the protectors. So when it comes to money that’s not something we look at. Nice if she has her own home or own car but that doesn’t make her more appealing. Neither does her having a degree. A man will date a girl working at McDonald’s if she’s cute. Women look to men for protection, for security, both financially and physically speaking. Men don’t look at women for that. A man needs to feel needed, so him taking care of you, his family, providing a place to stay, food, etc, that’s his “need.” When you’re one of these women who say I’m strong, independent, I can do my own thing I don’t need a man. He doesn’t feel needed, so no point of him being there cause like a lot of women if he does something wrong she can easily say well I have my own money I can get someone else.

Because men are the ones competing for women. Guys care about how a woman looks the most, cause evolution makes healthy girls look hot. Women care about the living of a man because she wants her offspring the best chance of survival. The more money a man has the more resources and food and shelter he has to keep babies alive. Women just need to be healthy enough to get pregnant and push it out and take care of baby. We still have a caveman brain even though we live in a different world now. A woman had many suitors wanting to make her his wife. A man can go years and even his WHOLE LIFE without the touch of a woman. So much so that men pay for the touch of a woman that might have stds because of how lonely he is. A women doesn’t have to pay for the touch of a man.

Women don't run a house. And them working is out of necessity to survive. Once a man earns, he does it for whole family. I have great respect for women who run the house in the absence of a man due to widow or divorced but we should admit it that women need a protector :). It's not always easy for them.

Men usually won't have any issues taking another job, working overtime, or starting a new side hustle - if its for a justifiable purpose. Money can be easily earned, lost or forgotten, so they would have no reason to seek fulfillment in that regard from a lady

Well Blue collar jobs actually pay very well.. A good electrician, Plumber, or Welder is making 6 figures.. But to answer the question.. But simply cause most women look for a man that's around their level or better.. Somebody that they feel can take care of them in some way.. Men don't care about that usually..

Simple really, it’s because men do not depend on women for anything other than not being lonely and producing future generations. Women, on the other hand are dependent on men for their survival. It’s hard wired into their DNA to desire a man who can provide for them and their children. Who told you blue collar jobs don’t well?
