Do men worry about a man talking to a woman more than even a woman would be?

Like, do you think men care more if another guy is talking to a woman than a woman would care about a guy talking to her? I seem to notice this. Not only are men possessive like this, but they also tend to think a guy must be trying to get laid or get a girlfriend just because they see him talking to one.

Plus very weak, simpy guys try to control women they like and tell them not to talk to some guy who is talking to them, or to stay away from him. Is it possible that even most women are not this on-the-look-out about guys who try to interact?

as recently as a couple months ago I had a guy who thought that because he is talking to me and attracted to me we're destined to be a couple (and also implied to his friends that we ARE already, the rumours spread and at some point I had pretty much everyone in my circle believing that we're together despite me actually hating his guts... but that's beyond the point lol) and one time he got mad at me for talking to my close friend, who came up to talk to us at a music festival.

Because "he knows how a guy talks to a girl they want to snatch (sic)".

It got even more hilarious when I found out later on that I was one of his "options" lol. Talk about projecting.

It's probably the most extreme example that I can think of, but yeah, I found that a lot of guys behave like that. Thankfully, my current boyfriend is totally okay with me having male friends and meeting with them, he also has some close female friends and none of us ever had an issue with that.

I had a very similar experience not so long ago! I was friends with this guy who was having a crush on me. I knew he was crushing on me but I told him clearly that I didn't want to date. He was okay with it and said he could just be a friend to which I agreed cause he seemed like a nice guy. Months later I found out all of his friends and all our coworkers thought we were dating, and some even told me he confirmed it. I was so angry at him I couldn't bring myself to talk to him or text him for days. When I finally was calm enough to talk it out with him I asked him about it, and he said he didn't think he had done anything wrong. He is the reason I'm now scared to have other male friends.

@Lily02 Some guys want to be quick to say they're dating a girl who is only friends, because they probably don't get much action with girls so when a chance comes along to start mingling with them, these dudes will try to make it look more significant than it really is.

I confronted the guy I mentioned about that too and at first he denied telling anyone at all and then told me he only told his grandmother (and showed her my picture). Like yeah dude it was surely your grandma that spread the rumors...

Surprisingly, he actually had some girls pining for him but, unsurprisingly, he was an asshole to them if he didn't find them worthy of his majestic ass.

I was meaning more in terms of a woman they're NOT dating, but maybe they want to, and they're paranoid about other guys talking to her.

Oooohhhh, I guess those individuals need to work up the nerve to ask her out. Hopefully it's not something associated with my age group. That seems ridiculous. I certainly remember women being way out of my league, and perhaps I was a little jealous of the guys they dated, but I wasn't angry.

Oh it is totally younger guys who act like that. I am glad to say I've NEVER met an older man who does that. Maturity and life experience really counts.

Men are much more about the status quo then women. Women are much more about what they can get and accumulate. This is why you can be married to a woman for 20 years. And she will leave you if she sees a better offer.
