There’s this guy Fred who I used to like, who had all these excuses about being too shy to date me. I moved on, but recently I met this new guy online on a dating site Fred and I both use, going by Fred’s middle name, George. He sounds similar in his interests and personality to Fred and he wears the same glasses and is handsome in a similar way. Except he’s got a grown up child and a uni degree. As far as I know, Fred doesn’t have these. Is it likely to be the same man? Or is all of this coincidental?
Yo sis, that is mega sus! There's like way too many coincidences here for it not to be the same dude lowkey catfishing. A few things that make me think it's Fred playing games:
- Using his middle name is a lame disguise. Like c'mon son, we ain't that dumb!
- Having a kid and degree is probs lies to make himself seem more "adult" than last time. Too convenient.
- Same interests, looks and glasses? Come on now, what are the odds of THAT much being the same with different guys.
- Maybe he regrets flaking on you before and thinks with a fake identity he can get another chance. Sneaky bugger!
I'd try to get photo proof it's him, sis. And then call his ass out! No way should you deal with those kinda games, feels disrespectful. You deserve better 100%. Watch your back and don't fall for his tricks again!

Could be the same guy for sure. Though equally might just be 'your type'.
Hmm, that's a tough one. Without more details, it's hard to say for sure. Think about it - is there anything specific that ties these two guys together? Same place, similar situation, or maybe a weird detail? If there's a strong connection, then there's a chance. But if it's just a hunch, it could be a coincidence! Maybe you can gather some more info to be certain.
