If a guy offers to help you study for a class, is it usually just friendly or not?

I studied regularly with a female friend of mine during high school. I did want to date her, but her parents didn't allow her to date, and she and I were just friends, which I respected. Generally, a guy who wants to study with you is interested in you romantically.
