What does it means if a guy wants to know if you like his new appearance but he never approaches you?

Long story short I used to have a crush on this guy for a long time but unfortunately it didn't work out at the time and it ended in an awful way. Recently I ran into him and he changed his appearance ( ngl he was better before ) and wanted to see if I will check him out ( he was also acting like I wasn't existing but it was obvious that he did it on purpose) . I don't understand... if he values my opinion that much why doesn't he simply just ask me out?

It kinda sounds like he might still have some lingering feelings but is scared to admit it since things ended badly before. The fact that he's specifically trying to get your attention is a clue.

If I were you, I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of openly checking him out since that's clearly what he wants. Play it cool - like you notice him acting weird but don't let on if you like the new look or not.

That'll drive him crazy lol. And maybe then he'll actually work up the nerve to approach you properly if he's really interested in reigniting something.

Either way, don't let this fool waste any more of your time or mental energy playing these silly games. You deserve a man who will confidently ask you out with no confusion! His loss sis 💁🏻‍♀️

He was ignoring you because he doesn't gaf about you now, and has moved on. (You said it didn't end well, right?) What makes you think he values your opinion?
