Why do guys lie about having sex with a girl, when they know themselves they didn't have any sexual contact?

My friend was talking to some guy for awhile now and when they finally hanged out he acted like they were a couple and things were real . A few days after they hanged out, she had found out that he had told all his friends that they had sex and all this other non sense. I just wanna know why he felt necessary to lie?

I never did anything like that, but I could understand why he might of did it. I'm 25 and a virgin and I have been made fun of since I was 18 for this reason. People would tell you different, but if you only felt how people treated you for this reason then it's starts to get to you, and yes it is painful when people do this to you or others. Its like somebody telling you you that your inadequate then laughing in your face about it!

They feel proud among their friends circle by saying like that. It might be just for fun.. When its comes for real surely they ll come out with truth or it may be like this he wants to keep sex with girl,and by saying a lie and if that girl comes to know and if she asks him why he lied,at that time the guy gets a chance of asking her to have sex...
