I mean you have to be tough enough to deal with the whole mentality game and the physical part too but it's not looked as tough because it's a "newer sport"? I only give respect to the athletes that really compete, try their hardest not wannabes.
iconosquare.com/.../279825250112914806_20107704 Here is a pic that my sister has we all practiced, I was the tiny one on the left being held and the cousin holding me on the right is the one who was a cheerleader.
Wow really? You need to check out the competitions. They get crazy and they're super talented. Watch the highlights of a cheerleading comp and you'll see what I mean. (:
I don't necessarily see bowling, golf, weight lifting, etc as sports. But honestly, it's kind of subjective, right?
I guess I see a sport more of something you're in a direct competition with a component and have to react against their actions. The others are more like athletic performances.
Hakuna Matata on the spelling. As far as your explanation, I dig it. I just, I don't know, I think sports and competition have different realms within themselves and the way that they're structured. If it's physically demanding as well as mentally, then I see it as a sport.
I see it as a combination of gymnastics and dancing. I think it also interesting that many cheerleaders take dance and gymnastic classes for years and years. Haha
I'm a cheerleader on my high schools cheer team and YES! It is defintly a sport and High School cheer leading is serious competition! My team does competitions and compets at an all star level. It takes a lot of dedication and work

I guess it is one but not a super intense one, you do have to be athletic to be in cheerleading.
Agree for the most part. I have seen it get intense though. (: Like crazy! Haha

Most definitely. There are so many who are just there for the cosmetics but not to be great.
Yep very true.
Have you ever done anything like cheerleading? You seem to really respect it.
I have not been on a team but I have helped my cousin practice when she was on her team, this was a long time ago.

Awe shucks I can't see it but I'll try until I can. What sports do you all do?
Oh alrighty lol Well I'm not in a sport but as a kid I did play a bit in softball with my cousins, we were in a team together, we sucked though. xD
Haha The whole team, or just you two?
It was a whole team of cousins like 8 to 10 of us.
Haha The Aussie 8. You all should have named your team that. It would have made all of the difference. Ha
*Awesome...Dangit. XD
Yeah, it's absolutely a sport.
It's just not one that I ever want to watch. LOL
Haha Never? Not ever?
Meh, not really. Although I'll admit that I don't hate the unis. LOL
Uni haha What's that?
Unis = uniforms. :-)
Hahahahahhahaahah! True. So true!
nope, i consider sports as games, if you consider cheerleading a sport, consider floor dancing a sport too.
I do just like gymnastics. (:
gymnastics is competitive.
What's the difference between a gymnastics competition and a cheerleading competition?
I've never heard of a cheerleading competition. Football games don't count

I see it as athletic, but not really a sport. There are lots of athletic things that aren't exactly sports.
I get where you're coming from but such as?
I don't necessarily see bowling, golf, weight lifting, etc as sports. But honestly, it's kind of subjective, right?

*opponent... Sorry for my spellcheck! Haha.

Yes, I think it's a sport. Obviously not just at football games with the cheerleaders on the sidelines, but the actual competitions they prepare for.
The competitions get heated! My gosh. Those things are crazy!
Yeah man, those girls are in like "make or break" mode lol
Haha They fly so high too. Those twists while they flip..."Bring It On" has nothing on them.
Yes it's definitely a sport. The athletes maybe hot but it's hard physical work.
Hahahaha! I think anyone who is disciplined and keeping themselves in shape is hot. ;)
I guess it is. But it should be a female sport only😋
Hahaha Maybe but I know some pretty talented male cheerleaders too.
Maybe so. But surely they could do something that wasn't suited for females👍
I guess that's how you see it. Haha
Strength, durability, flexibility and mental toughness I'd agree on. I don't see it as a sport though, It's closer to dancing or gymnastics.
I see it as a combination of gymnastics and dancing. I think it also interesting that many cheerleaders take dance and gymnastic classes for years and years. Haha

While it does require physical prowess, I wouldn't consider it a sport.
It's not a sport for me but an extreme activity, it's just basically dancing and lots of stunts
Gymnastics; right?
It's definetely a sport and a really hard one!!
I do agree with you.
Definitely not a sport, but it is an exercise.
Hmm.,. I see.
More of a sport than chess :P
Completely a sport.
Yeah.
Yes it is especially if they compete
Yeah, that takes it up a few notches.
Yes its a sport
I totes agree! Haha
