Im really scared of gaining too much muscle and I dont want them to get bigger...just tone down.
Is the rowing machine good for this?
The best key to losing a few kilos is a good balance between all-round exercise and diet.
As to the rowing machine, toning is achieved better through less resistance and more reps. I.e. do more of it at a lower intensity (or with less weight/resistance if you get what I mean). So all-round exercise for weight, but you do have to target your thighs for toning (try squats; they are easy to do at home or anywhere)
I mean... rowing is kind of an upper body (back/shoulder/bicep) workout... not so much a lower body one. Might I suggest running?
If you run for an hour, and row for 15-30 minutes... you'll get in shape. Assuming your form is good.
Also abs. Abs are my favorite exercise.
Okay, so i row for my school. We used it all the time, and they really build up the legs more than the arms. My quads are so buff. It really tones your quads. This machine also make your fat turn into muscle.
The only way to lose fat in a specific area is to lose fat overall.
With good technique, rowing will do wonders for your leg tone.
Rowing is for the back brah
