It doesn't sound like something to be worried about, everyone is different. We have periods for different lengths of time, our cycles are different lengths, and even going on the pill, everyones body reacts differently. before i went on the pill my cycle was 30 days, so my period would start every 30 days and would last 7-8 days. when you go on the pill it sets you to a 28 day cycle but my body still chose to be on a 30 day cycle, only my periods last about 5 days and are much lighter and more painless. also if you have pills strong enough, you are able to manipulate your cycle so you can delay your period, or skip it, or whatever. if you get pills that are too weak, you can bleed all the time, either period or spotting. if you're worried you can go see a dr but you sound normal to me, though the pill could always help out with that if you so wish.

Have you had major life changes? Stress? New exercise regime? Started a new diet or exercise plan? Gained or loss weight? Travelled or changed sleeping patterns?
All these things are important to your cycle. Despite popular belief your cycle can change naturally or due to natural factors. But it's hard to tell if you haven't been tracking it.
If you have a smart phone and haven't already, get a period tracking app (I like Period Plus). Get to know your body intimately. You can get a check up but beware of birth control to regulate your cycle. It can cause more issues than it solves (hormonal imbalance, weight gain, mood swings, etc). There are natural ways to regulate your cycle that are safer and involve you embracing your body as a woman's body instead of using chemicals to make something happen.

the regular normal cycle is 28 days... In what I understand, you having 21 days means the level of your hormones in regards to ovulation and menstrual cycle is fluctuating early than usual, thus, shorten your cycle from 28 down to 21 days... It may be cause by a lot of factors such as stress, pills, health condition, etc.
I don't think its abnormal or something to worry... its just your hormone levels are changing its mood...
If you feel anything unusual like heavy bleeding or unusual pain or anything unusual aside from the length of cycle, then I suggest to visit your Gynecologist..My period comes every 21/22 days regularly… I always thought that was normal. Now I'm kind of worried.
