Over the past 5 months, I've dropped from 150 lbs to 137 lbs. I have been working on strength/toning so I have bought supplemental stuff but other than that...
I make sure I eat healthy (limit carbs and especially FATS) - this does not mean I eat less, I actually eat more calories than I used to.
I work out a lot now. Cardio 4 days and strength 3 days.
While this may not be realistic for some people (i. e. less access to healthier foods/gym time), you should really try to eat more veggies, complex carbs and lean meats and less pizza, candy, pasta, etc. Also, try and go on a run. If you think running is not your things, find another form of exercise whether thats biking, pick up basketball, weight lifting or really anything to get your heart rate up and break a sweat!

lol actually losing weight should be cheaper than gaining, bc ostensibly you eat less:)
Unless the sea or a lake is nearby, you'll need to buy an entrance ticket for a swimming pool or walking shoes and do a lot of miles on land or in the water.
Calorie deficit is how you lose weight. That costs nothing.

Eat smaller meals. If you aren't seeing a change, eat a bit less. And exercise. Go to the gym or at least jog around.
You can actually gain money and lose weight. Eat less, exercise more.
