Right now, I'm a 19 year old male who's trying to drop down from 185lbs down to 165lbs so I can compete in amateur boxing again so I was wondering if it's a good idea to eat first before running.
Both. You need a lot of calories before for the energy to get through the run. You also need a lot of energy after to recover and to get through the rest of the day. Focus on healthy carbohydrates but don't forget protein.

I would eat before, you need your energy to fully perform at your best. It doesn't have to be a huge meal but at least have something. After, maybe a have a protein shake
