To be honest it took me AGES to get used to putting them in. its actually more difficult then made out.
First things first, just know it will fit, it will work and no it won't hurt too much if at all.
i pretty much watch YouTube videos, that helped a lot.
But its best to try it when you are already on your period because it will slide in easier. The main tip i can give you is RELAX! when you're more nervous it won't work. it will take sometime but everyone is different. Also go for the smallest size at first, then work your way up.
Sorry for being graphic!!!-
It goes in the hole thats in front of your butt hole, (i take it you're a virgin) and just make sure it goes up all the way, the only way you will feel it is if you have not pushed it up further enough.
Its only dangerous if you leave it in longer than 8 hours. but apart from that its cleaner and so much better than pads!!
good luck and watch YouTube videos and read the instructions. :) xo

It shouldn't hurt, no. It's easier to put them in if you take a warm bath or shower first the first time you do it; relax your muscles down there; and remember your vagina doesn't go straight up, it's at an angle sloping up and backwards. There's not much chance of getting it in the wrong hole haha; there's 3 holes; your urethra is too small to mistake for a vagina, hopefully know which is your anus; and your vagina's the other one. It's not dangerous no. And I agree with Selllena; the ones with plastic applicators are easiest + have instructions for you to follow. Just slide it in slowly and gently; and if it's in properly you shouldn't be able to feel it

They are only dangerous if you leave them in for a long time, like over 12 hrs. It can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome. Can you ask your mom to explain or a girlfriend? You can do it by practice alone, just make sure it's high enough so you don't feel it. For first time buy the ones with the soft plastic applicator. They might even have ones for beginners...
get the 'tampax' ones with applicators, they have instructions and are also very smooth, you won't feel a thing. so much better than pads
