What is wrong with my throat/singing voice?

I LOVE singing and right now singing isn't the same for me because my throat has this dry, cough feeling without any need to cough. It feels weird and my singing isn't the same. I don't think I'm sick. I haven't been sick lately but I don't think I'm getting sick. Any guesses? I don't know if this means anything but I have a few bumps on my arm/wrist/hand.

It could be allergies. That's what I would guess first.

What kind of singing do you do? If you are doing very harsh singing (eg, hard rock) or have been singing while sick/aggravated, there is the possibility of developing vocal nodes, which would require surgery and an extended period of not making any sound at all with your voice.

Hmm. I usually sing pop/rock but no screaming

I sang while sick before and it actually helped me get better faster like when I sang with a cold

Haha, well I wouldn't worry too much about it being vocal nodes.

Wait for the bumps on your arm to go away first (odds are, you're dealing with allergies). But if the problem with your voice persists after it clears up, you may need to get your voice checked out.

And I would refrain from singing for a few days. Heal up first, then see where you're at--if it indeed is vocal nodes, you don't want to further aggravate your vocal cords.

Wait for the bumps to go away and see how my voice is then and if my voice still has this thing then go to the doctor?

Hmm, also if you are having an allergic reaction that is that strong, you may actually need to see a doctor for just that. Go get medical care.

No, as I'm thinking about it, I think you should go to the doctor now. Allergic reactions can be quite serious, so if it is in fact serious, it's better to have a doctor check you ASAP.

If your symptoms have come about very suddenly, then you should go now. If they've developed gradually, then you can wait to call and schedule an appointment.

Have you ever been to an allergist/ immunologist? You may have some kind of allergic reaction to something, anyway, hydrate and go see a doctor, lol.

I never have. Allergic to something with bugs or something else? The bumps could be related?

Yes, perhaps some change in your diet, or an allergic reaction to bugs or pollen or temperature, my sister is allergic to the cold. But really, before worrying too much you should talk to a doctor, they know all about your body.

I would need to go to my primary care doctor and discuss it there? I don't know if they could do anything. What about waiting and seeing if the bumps and voice thing goes away?
