Is this orange going to get me food poisoning?

This is the only site where I thought I would get this answered straightforward. I ate some of an orange that had skin which peeled off very easily, and it smelled a bit weird. Will this get me food poisoning? It was a bit soft and had a LITTLE brown at the bottom, but I did NOT finish eating the orange. Thanks.

When food is contaminated, there is no change to appearance or smell. So, u could become sick, but the "off" smell or browning does not indicate that. Those are just quality issues. A perfectly normal orange could be contaminated and cause u to become sick. Just make sure u wash ur fruits and veggies before eating them!
