Well, yeah, arguments of don't feed him it, however sometimes it's a treat, or he's at a friends, or it's a road trip, or whatever. These things happen.
How old is he? Is he a child or teen or what?
I would start with bargaining. Say to him, if he eats this he can have McDonald's. But don't give him a time. Make it a once a week treat. Start by making similar food at home, like a grilled chicken breast with bacon in a bun. And slowly, start making him different things. As unhealthy as it is, you need to get him used to home cooking being as good and better than McDonald's.
From there you can go to fish fingers, to pasta bakes, etc. Take him to different restaurants when he learns a new meal and he will associate eating out with many places instead of one.
That's what I would do if it was my kid. Baby steps. Tough love can work but I think in this case if he ONLY eats it instead of just demanding, it's best to take baby steps.

Try to cook with him the food he wants. You could make the dishes with faces and such that would appeal to kids.
Does he have siblings or any kids around? Gather them and serve food that would appeal to other kids and he would likely imitate them.
Before what i did with my brother to make him eat some veggies when he was young, I eat the food then describe the food like it was the best food ever. Then He would eat it. haha! then He doesn't know if he finds it tasty himself or not but keeps on eating it because we all (in the table) make it seem enjoyable XD
Definitely, a varied diet is the answer in all cases to a healthy body and mind. That said, McDonalds is not the evil corporation most people think it is. In the UK, they have the strictest food preparation method of any catering company anywhere. Extremely strict hygiene practices. In the UK they also source local produce. I can't say the same for them in other countries though.
So McDonalds is not necessarily the issue, the lack of a varied diet is the issue.
He needs a more balanced diet than just McDonald's every day!
Take him to KFC.

Try making him some homemade nuggets with healthier ingredients... bake the nuggets don't fry, and reward him with a little frozen yogurt or a little toy (bubbles, stickers, crayons, etc) Also, since he likes chicken so much try incorporating it into his diet but in a health conscious way ex. homemade chicken noodle soup, and mini chicken pot pies. My daughter was the same way, for a while it seemed like all she wanted was a happy meal and really ignored the food when she got her hands on the toy. I talked to her pediatrician about it at one point he said this is normal and prescribed some vitamin drops anyway. The home cooking may take a while but as he grows more, he will eat. Trust me. Good luck & don't give up, you're a great parent for doing this. ☺
How old is your son? You could try putting similar foods in front of him but just healthier versions, they're not perfect, but I think that low-fat chips or boiled chicken will be a lot better than the deep-fried and salt covered things McDonalds gives you. Eventually, you might be able to wean him off them.
Children adapt and the high fat content in mcdonalds foods are addictive meaning the more you eat, the more you want to eat. Try giving him heavily seasoned low fat foods to wean him off the fat in McDonald's or give him mcdonalds food but don't allow him to put ketchup or mustard in his sandwich and also throw out the relish. If their food no longer tastes good - they will switch to something else.
Don't get him McDonalds. He doesn't wanna eat? Do what my family did and make me sit there until A) It's all off my plate, or B) It's time for bed and I go to sleep hungry.
That kinda sorta worked for me because I hated, and still do, eating meat. I just learned to eat first, taste never and get it down my throat.Don't buy it anymore and just deal with the tantrums.
Sit him down at meal times and put a plate of whatever food in front of him.
Be patient with him and make sure he eats that plate of food.
This technique may take a couple of hours but you will have to stick with it.
The food will go cold and he won't want to eat it, but persevere.
You just need to crack that image in his head that Macs is all he wants.
It's a tough one but it can be done with patience and ear-plugs.Well first of all your the parent and as such you need to lay down the law. McDonald's should be a treat not a daily diet, especially for a child. If this is a teenager you're talking about then I'm sure it's not going to be easy breaking his habit. Maybe you can take him to his pediatrician and have the pediatrician talk to him about the drawbacks to eating too much fast-food? I hope everything works out for you and your son. :) Good luck and have a wonderful day. Blessed be.
I can understand that. Maybe try making what he eats there very similar at home. If it's a cheeseburger, throw a patty in the oven and then put together ingredients of the burger. Maybe show him how to do it himself. Then work your way onto other food that he can cook. Showing your kid how to cook is the best way of eating healthy. My question is why did you or the mother start him on that stuff in the first place?
Just don't buy that stuff for him. If he gets hungry he will eat other things. Trust me he won't starve to death.
How old is your child? He will only eat what you give or buy for him you have to make him eat other things if he gets hungry enough he won't have a choice.
It's your fault for giving him junk food. Now he won't want anything else.
Don't give him McDonalds. Give him real food in its place. He will eat it when he has no other alternative.
Learn to be a better parent and don't feed him junk. Obviously you gave it to him too much in the first place. He wouldn't want it so much if you hadn't kept giving it to him. Learn to cook and stop being so lazy by eating out so much.
just dont give it to him. he'll kick up a fuss, but kids aren't stupid. he'll eat when he's hungry.
how old? if he's young u need to trick him into eating better things , make it fun, have him help u cook
By not feeding him that crap in the first place.
By being a parent and not giving in to your childs wants.make it look more fun and add cheese
Get him a job at McDonald's.
