but the day before I started my diet and dieting I seriously hurt my back and had to stop lifting
So do you think I'm not losing weight yet is because of being out of the gym
I have lowered my calories by 1000+
I doubt its because you stopped lifting. people who don't exercise at all still lose weight if they cut their daily caloric intake.
scientific health will obviously say you should be losing weight after 2 months of cutting 1000 calories a day, but remember everyone's body is different, regardless of what scientific health suggests, it really does not apply to every single human being on earth, it mainly applies to the general population. some people's genetics are different, and your body reacts differently to changes than what the average may experience.
its possible your body is holding onto its fat storages due to the change in your daily intake and workout. I really think you should be losing at least some weight though, even after 2 months. I think you should stick it out for another 1-2 months, if you really don't notice any change, even on the scale or the size of your pants, then you have to consider that even cutting 1000+ calories is not enough for you to lose weight like a normal person. Perhaps you need to cut AND exercise at the same time for your body to make a difference. food choices are also important, you may be cutting calories but are you making healthier food choices? like more plant-based foods, or are you still eating processed foods but only less of it?
You have to lift a lot if you want to burn +1000 calories. So no I don't think it's sort of compensating. Maybe a little but not all of it. Not losing weight can be because of a lot of things like stress, secret eating or you just didn't wait long enough. It takes some time before you actually see change.
