Acne Problems

I am 17 years old and I have acne. It is noticeable. It's all over my face and tends to stay red, which I hate. I know it looks horrible. It has getting so much worse lately. I started to get acne four years ago and have been battling with it since. It is so embarrassing! I can't look people in the eyes. I just need help on maybe some things to help clear it up. I have tried ProActive and that stuff is crap! So please don't tell me to use that. I just really want my confidence back and it's pretty much impossible with these things on my face!

Are you using any medication for it? Because I recently went to a dermatologist and got a prescription for some different treatments to use (tretinoin and clindamycin, to be exact) and even though it's only been about 2 weeks, it has made a big difference. :) You don't even need to go to a dermatologist, really, your doctor can prescribe it for you too. So basically, if your skin is bad enough, there's not much that can help it besides a prescription skin medication. :/ I guess if you don't want to use that, you could also get something from the drugstore with benzoyl peroxide in it, like Zapzyt.

I haven't taken any percription medicine but my mom was talking about taking me to a dermatologist. I will talk to my mom about maybe just taking me to the doctor and I will tell her the medicine you informed me about. THANKS! ((:
