What are foods other than veggies that could give me a high amount of fiber without adding in carbs too?
How can I eat enough fibers in a day?

Some nuts are pretty low in carbs and high in fiber (I know peanuts and almonds for sure). I limit may carbs generally as well so I know what you mean as far as what you can / can't have. Strawberries are pretty low in carbs and have some fiber (I don't usually eat fruit due the carbs either but strawberries are pretty low in carbs when you subtract out the fiber). Other than that it's hard to give you advice because although I also follow allow carb diet, I actually love almost all vegetables (my problem is that I unfortunately also love lots of other foods that are not so virtuous). I really enjoy salads, when made with low carb dressings (which there really are a lot of them that are and tasty too), adding in some cheese, maybe some nuts or sunflower seeds (or just a few tortilla or wonton strips) to add some crunch, I personally find them yummy and not goat-like at all, but that's just me. I eat one or two salads a day with my meals and that's probably how I get most of my fiber. Oh, and I almost forgot, how about some low carb bread or tortillas? Those have a lot of fiber in them too. Healthy Life bread is pretty good and has around 6 grams of carbs per slice after you subtract out the (substantial amount of) fiber. For tortillas, I've found the low carb tortillas that feel soft in the package are pretty good (not the wheat-ish looking, chewy ones... yuck on those). The Mission low carb tortillas are good, and I've found good soft low carb tortillas in the La Banderita, Ole, and La Tortilla Factory brands as well. They are pretty high in fiber and I personally like being able to have the option of eating bread or tortillas while still keeping carbs low. Hope that's helpful
I have a question for you, follow me first
@Cowboy6666 okay, followed...
Well, I eat more green vegetables than I do animal protein. Just incorporate vegetables and foods high in fiber into your dish. For breakfast try oatmeal, or whole grains cereals , you can also have a shake and use prunes, mangos , coconut flour, flaxseeds their are a lot of options
Does no one read my description? I'm watching my carb intake, and yes, I love chocolate. So I can't eat carbs and fruits, because fruits contain carbs. I would rather keep the carbs for chocolate and not fruits.
Lol, why are you watching your carbs? Are you diabetic prediabetic? Their is good carbs and bad carbs. Carbs from vegetables is healthy your body can process that, you eating carbs from a candy bar will not help you and is backwards and will spike up your blood sugar.
I'm trying to lose weight. I know about good and bad carbs, but I need chocolate to keep me happy. So I'm taking my carbs from that 1 small bar of snickers a day. It's good for the soul and keeps me motivated and have a lot less cravings.
O. k. you will not loose weight that way at all. A candy bar has so much Damn sugar in it that will spike up your blood sugar not to mention all the car's will also spike up your blood sugar. it will only leave you insulin resistant and make your cortisol levels become ridiculous and ten your adrenals Will fry. This wills signal your body that your in starvation mode so instead of burning fat you will be burning muscle. You don t need a candy bar, mind over matter. You control the brain so tell yourself you don't need it, Don't give into your addiction.
Easier said than done. We all need something to make us feel good and want to keep going. And make us feel like life is worth living.
That comment alone says you need to get help for your addiction. To equate a candy bar with "a life worth living " isn't o. k. from what I hear you have unsorted issues and or you suffer from emotional eating. If you don't get these problems sorted out you will still have them when you loose weight.
Carbohydrates don't contribute to weight. The idea of avoiding carbs is a fad and they are actually very helpful for losing weight. You're doing more damage by over eating veggies than if you were to eat a decent portion of pasta and some fruits. A lot of people get by with only pasta, bread, meat and fruits.
If you look at Web MD peer-reviewed scientific studies on what we should focus our diet on is meat, beans, eggs and oranges. This information is from scientists, not fashion models from a magazine or a quick weight loss fad.
Yeah and meat, beans, eggs, and oranges don't contain that much carbs.
What damages can be caused by overeating veggies? All I know is that it has a low energy density, so it fills you up without adding much calories.
Read an article on "How much can kill you". It tells how even too much broccoli can kill you. Veggies also tend to have "negative-calories" meaning they burn more calories by eating them than the calories they give you. Don't give in to the fad diets and crazy vegans.
I doubt i would eat enough veggies to kill me. Kill my life force, yes. But then again, chocolate is made out of pants, right? So it's salad.
Chocolate is made from beans, cacao beans. It is then added to milk. So technically it would be a grain and dairy product.
And yes you could easily eat enough veggies to kill yourself, it's been done before by women who followed some diet fad.
Yeah and what are grains? Plants! Lol
And i really don't think i have the stregth to follow some diet fad. Not that i've not tried... Tried a couple. Gave up mid way.
starting typing but i'll just link the may clinic page

more fiber but watching carbs?
well sweet potato might be off that list..
try celery?
Oh god... Baaaaa turning into a goat already lol raw celery tastes disgusting and leaves fibers in my teeth
it ain't that bad
It is... It has a weird strong taste that's not exactly pleasant.
One of those baby bananas (not young, but literally dwarfs) have 30 g of carbs in one fruits. That's fucking a lot
I set up around 100 g of total carbs.
You'll wind up consuming some complex carbs, for sure. Recently, I've been grinding 1/2 cup of raw oats to almost powder to use in protein shakes. They give 150 calories @ 5g protein, 27g Carbs (complex), 1g sugars, 3g fat, the fiber content is; 4g dietary, 2g soluble, 2g insoluble. I take it as a regimen for heart health. My cholesterol is good w/o meds - an issue for people my age especially. How are you with these numbers?
Pretty good as a meal replacement. But I don't like drinking my meals either lol
Good luck being a goat.. I can't see anything else apart from veggies, seeds and oats. Keep the sugar to a minimum.
u might want to take a supplement.. metamucil is known for being able to mix with water and have no taste. but fiber is a type of carbohydrate.. so u can't get all fiber and no carbs but u can get fiber and a bit more carbs
Best answer so far. The only one that hits the spot. So what are the best high fiber-low carb foods?
well if you dont want supplements. then sweet and startchy food would be off the list.. so its preety much veggies like lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower
So basically becoming a goat then... Or a freaking bunny, without the cute factor.
yea... why the interest?
Interest in what?
eating fiber are plugged up?
Mostly not. Just am count ing all my macros and fiber is important anyway.
oh i see just keeping track
I think that vegetables are probably your only option here. Better learn to like vegetables.
Seems like so...
I know... Chemicals, right? I probably need to learn more about them or scrutinize the ingredients list
Or just try more vegetables. I have always liked Asian vegetables more than your standard European ones. I eat a lot of garlic, but you can also use vinegar to flavour things as that's lower in calories.
I wonder if it would be helpful to you to take a vegetarian or vegan cooking class. That way you could learn some new ways to prepare vegetables.
I like Asian style dishes, but in my Apartment we cannot Cook. Not allowed. And the food I See on the Streets are usually very spicy, too spicy when not eaten with rice. Many times, if I do buy a non-spicy one, it ends up being reeeeally sweet it made me sick one time. Physically sick. I like European style salads, but the ingredients for that could be mighty expensive. Like bell peppers. Love em. Expensive. Aurugula. Expensive. Artichoke hearts. Breaks the bank.
You might need to invest in a fiber supplement then if you aren't going to eat vegetables and fruit seriously.
If you really hate the taste of veggies, then u can get a fiber supplement that is a powder that dissolves in water. :)
I'll check if there are any where I live
You're welcome. Don't want the possible gas/bloating side effects or mistakenly choose one that is primarily a laxative. :-0 . I clicked matter link to the mayo clinic and just found out that a cup of raspberries is 8g (very high?). Put that in your yogurt and eat it. What's your interest in fitness (beside being fit lol! )? Got to run, there's Beautiful Russian Women who want to meet me. . .
dietary fiber doesn't count for your carb counting. so when looking at food with a high total carbs you subtract the dietary carbs out of your carb counting.
Oh OK good to know. But are they still the first to be used by the. body? (Functioning the same way normal carbs do?)
A large bowl of hot oatmeal will just about fill your daily requirement of fiber.
But the carbs man... And I can't eat oatmeal everyday without putting some fruits in
there comes some fiber packets that you can mix it in water or in any juice you can try that
I'll look for it, thanks.
Oatmeal helps with fiber.
Carbs...
Flax seeds
You're asking for the impossible...
Lol maybe... Couldn't hurt to ask...
Fiber gummies, powder fiber in your tea or coffee
eat your greens and fruit :)
metamucil maybe?
I'll check it out. Thanks.
Blue berries!
brown rice.
