You can't change the shape of your butt. You can tone, but you really can't add desirable shape or "thickness". Unless you want a very muscular ass, in which case you need to lift heavy, heavy weight doing low reps. So, probably like 150 pounds 3-4 times, rest, 3-4 times, rest, 3-4 times, then eat a lot of protein. Growth takes place when your muscles are repairing, not when you're lifting. When you're lifting, you're tearing them down, so they will later build up stronger and bigger.
Firmness will just go along with toning. As for faster results, workout harder; eat more: healthy foods

To add size to muscles you need to be training with a level of weight/resistance heavy enough to hit failure in fewer than 12 reps and you need to be eating at a calorie surplus.
It takes time, just be patient. Try deadlifts with a barbell they work your butt well, downward dog, kick backs, etc. Make sure you add on weight as you get stronger and also me sure you are getting the right nutrition, protein powder, etc.
How long have you been doing it?
It takes usually 4 weeks for result been working out for almost a year and with the butt work I really barely see different unless you touch it. Try adding donkey kicks and hip bridge.

Lunges work too, but all these exercises will shape your butt, not buildcextra muscle. Therefore you need to train with weigths.
Building muscle takes a while to build when going for a big amount.
no such thing as fast results. It takes time to build muscle young padawan
leg press. lunges, donkey kicks, split squats, hack squats... just some off the top of my head. OH, and stiff leg deadlifts are huge. my ass hurts so bad the day after I put those in my leg day.
