It's 3am and I can't sleep due to very painful sore throat, anyone have any suggestions?

Will my throat close up on me if I sleep? I'm very paranoid, It hurts really bad when I swallow on the top. It all looks a normal colour, I think it's caused by flu

Also I haven't eaten much ( slice of toast) for 2 days cause it really hurts, and my tummy is rumbling really bad

I don't have any pain killers at the moment other than paracetemol

What do you suggest?

Vitiman c Tablets are good but the powdered form (in water) works within a hour. It can be difficult to tolerate it's (powdered version) sour, bitter taste. Drink something warm. Tea and honey is good but sometimes you feel sick in a way where that's not really what you want so it's better to have something else.

Eating may not be what you want to do but you should do it anyway. Have foods that will massage your throat on their way down. Toast, bananas and whatever else you can think of. Try to eat things that will have an abundance of vitamins and such to provide your body with the materials needed to fight off whatever you have.

Alcohol can be good too. Something hard that will literally melt the phlegm away. Obviously do this after you eat. Don't worry about throwing up. If you do then you probably should. There's a reason we throw up after all.

I have a recipe that's basic as shit but time consuming for chicken soup. It's very good and in my experience, fixes people right up.

Relax, stay in bed and clean your sheets after you have recovered. It's probably not a bad idea to do it as soon as you feel you can.

Oh god and I totally forgot the most important one. WATER! Water is the most important thing in your body and we never drink enough of it. When your sick, ALWAYS have a cold, refreshing glass of water by your side to sip out of. I bet if you go right now you'll drink way more than you thought you would

Cough up and spit out anything messing with you. As well as blow your nose of anything. This will aid in the healing process. You could gargle with something with antiseptic properties. Some examples are salt water some listerine has this. Get plenty of rest. And take a ibuprofen to reduce swelling and pain symptoms. I think this will help your body heal by taking the strain off of it so it can rest. Eat plenty of veggies and orange juice because of the vitamin A and C which boosts your immune system. Antioxidants and probiotics will help as well. (I haven't been sick in literally years).

Warm chicken broth. You'll feel full and it will soothe the throat. Try a shot of honey lemon. Heat a spoonful of honey in a microwave cup then stir it with lemon juice. The lemon will cut the phlegm and the honey will coat your throat. Sometimes I go to sleep with a lozenge tucked in my cheek. That's enough to get the vapors going in my airway. But choking is a risk for many people with that.

Best thing for tonight is to use some cold medicine made for night time. If you do not have any of that, then suck on a throat lozenge before going to bed. (Not while you are in bed, that could choke you if you fell asleep.) Best to see a doctor early in the morning. May be just a cold, or could be more serious.

One shot of white vinegar two times a day in anywhere between one to three days you'll be fine. If you have acid reflux I would sudjest taking a medicine before hand. It will burn like hell but it is effective on dealing with the infection which is in reality what a sore throat is.

You should also take a flu medication so as to soothe your throat or a cloreseptic spray. By doing this the conifer acts as an antibacterial cleaning the area and the spray obviously being the medical treatment by doing both you insure a quick recovery time. You'll be fine at night you throat will not close on you so font worry. Now that being said if it is extremely inflamed and or swollen to the point in which your breathing is being effected then I would sudjest going to the hospital.

What type of pain is it? Sharp, burning, stinging, or achy? Gargle mouthwash (the alcohol will kill the germs), gargle warm salt water, drink lemon juice with honey (it'll sting but it will help) and drink warm tea.

go to the drug store, or a convenience store and buy some chloraseptic spray for soar throats. Or some throat numbing lozenger's. Really cold food can help too, stuff that's easy to swallow.

Warm milk, some honey. Take biscuits and dip it in so they become soft. Soups are good too. Some nutrition any kind will do. Get better

Have you suggested drinking hot water? How about a hershy kiss or two? It heals my throat pretty well. Then again, we aren't all the same.

Herbal tea or maybe a hot drink will cure it up, just a tad.
