Guys and sports. It's a fact of life, lol. You probably should just get used to it. But it doesn't have to be a constant fight like everybody else has already said. I've been with my guy for 9.5 years and for the longest time we just knew that was how it was going to be. If he wanted to watch sports then we didn't spend that time together. He watched in one room, I watched tv or did something else in another room. I tried watching with him sometimes but I couldn't get into it. So mostly we just let it go. Sometimes when I REALLY wanted to see him, then I would cuddle with him while he watched the game, but find something else to occupy me so I wasn't bored. Read, crossword puzzles, handheld video games, listen to your iPod. you know, whatever. More recently I started trying to watch sports again. I realized that it wasn't really that I didn't LIKE sports. The big thing was that I just didn't UNDERSTAND sports very much and I didn't have a team that I was passionate about to cheer for. I've started learning what I can about sports and found teams to cheer for and that made all the difference. We're watching the game together tonight. Basketball, lol. I'm actually excited, lol.

Guys like football. That's just the way of the world. My guy watches it and even though I don't particularly like it, I wouldn't prevent him seeing it. I find something else to do or watch tv in another room.
It seems like you are making a big deal out of nothing and he probably feels like you are making him choose between you and football. Let him watch the game at your house. That way you can both get what you want.
So the issue isn't football, it's the control over who is dominant in the relationship. Be a part of his love of football instead of what he may see as blocking something he enjoys immensely.
Good luck!

I understand. My last failed relationship, the guy was from Boston, obsessed with the Red Sox. Have you seen the movie Fever Pitch with Drew Berrymore and that Saturday Night Live guy? Yeah, well, he was a lot worst than that. Its a problem, but try and make it fun. Dress up in football gear and prance around real cute. That works, takes his mind off things. But If he loves football more than you, then you need to move on.
do you like football? because you can go watch the games with him, and then you won't fight as much and you'll still get to see each other
