Can I Still Get the Girl?

Anonymous
Unfortunately, I'm not very good with women. Just two years ago I weighed 90lbs more than I currently do, and as you can image not much happened in my teenage love-life prior. Anyway, there's this girl in one of my college classes and we've known each other since high school. Hear within the past few months that we've had this class (which we took together on her request) I've fallen pretty hard. She's always been a little shy and so all we've been able to do is go out for coffee and have a couple study dates. So here recently, I decided I'd go for it and tell her how I felt to see if that might break the ice a bit. I walked her to her car and told her with complete sincerity how I felt. To my confession she responds with something similar to "I like you too, but I'm not looking for anything serious right now." I know what that means; I'm not dumb. I acted calm and cool trying not to undo any progress I'd made with her. The next time we had that class, she skipped it. In the past week the only communication we've had is short messages back and forth via Facebook and I'm a little disappointed to say the least. I'm a very intellectual, talented, and funny individual and, having lost all that weight, I'd say I look pretty good. I'm still about 10-20lbs overweight, but I'm muscular and visit the gym frequently. I hope I haven't ruined all hope of being with this girl. Please help me rekindle and further ignite what we have between us. What should I do?

Oh, and also, it's not just like I told her I liked her out of nowhere. I'm still building up my confidence after having absolutely none when I was fat. I waited until I was pretty confident that she liked me first. She has been sending definite signals.
