Mental illness hasn't increased or decreased; but the self-diagnosis and reporting and whining about it has gone up significantly. The older generation had the same problems, and their friends, family, everyone also did. But they just dealt with it instead of wallowing in it and feeling sorry for themselves.
More people I know have a mental illness than don't, at least to some degree or other, inclusive of all generations, back to my grandparents and their friends.
I was just about to agree with you and start ranting about the older generation but then I realized I am the older generation now.

Well kind of. I mean you're 1 year older than my mom and she doesn't understand my mental illnesses. But that's ok, and just because you are apart of the "older generation" doesn't mean you don't understand mental illnesses. There was and still is people your age with mental problems, it's just not that common. You still can agree.
No, but it is difficult to understand mental illness in general and I know a lot of people my age who do have mental illness and it was only diagnosed within the past couple of years even though they’ve had it for 15-20 years already.

Because most boomers were themselves mentally damaged by the fallout from radioactive testing during the cold war...
Because they were taught to bury it and keep going.
Because it reflects negatively on the genetics of the family.
Because 50 % of it is done for attention and they've been through worse considering the length of time lived

Because Boomers are almost all mentally ill. They will die off before they look in the mirror even once.
Mental health had a big stigma attached to it. Nobody ever talked about it. There really were no real treatments for it either.

I'm so sorry I didn't mean to ruin your day, I hope you find something that cheer you up soon!
Aha ok, well I don't care you can still agree:)
It’s ok. I’m kidding about my day being ruined. 😂
OHH ok, sorry!
A lot of people in general really don't
I agree but specifically the older generations.
because in their day there was no such thing... At least not thought of as it is today...
Why do younger generations have more mental illness or not?
There's an endless list of why.
They still see it as a taboo Lord knows why.
Cause its probably not a mental illness
Ok so thinking I'm too ugly to be seen, have friends, for my family to see me, to be loved, to be alive is perfectly normal?
Never existed back in their day? Lol
We realize
Wasn't talked about
