What do you think of people who refuse to get the COVID vaccine for fear of suffering from possible long-term health impacts?

in my opinion, since the risk of suffering from long term health impacts from a coronavirus infection is far worse than suffering from them as a result of the vaccine, said people shouldn't be taken seriously unless they are isolating themselves from the rest of society so they don't contract COVID.

Many of my family and friend, as well as myself, have gotten covid after the vaccine. I personally got it within just a couple months after my second dose. Though we are exposed to it more than normal (many people around us in healthcare), it still happens consistently.


Under your logic, even the vaccinated should remain out of contact with society as to not contract Covid. It simply isn’t very effective.


It lessens symptoms, yes. The thing is, before the vaccine all these people around me got covid, including myself. Most had symptoms not severe at all. Some didn’t even spike a fever in the slightest.


Personally, I find issue with the scientific report you linked on long term symptoms. I think this report was mostly made to incentivize more research. That’s great but isn’t convincing. I find this report to portray the long term side effects as more prevalent than they actually are. I think it states 80 percent of people have had long term side effects? That’s absurd. Not to mention this paper may suffer severely from causation vs correlation. As well other flaws.


I think it’s possible there are very few long term effects.


I state this not because I don’t believe in getting vaccinated, I do. But I don’t think we should turn a blind eye to the antivaxers. They may just be right, it sure seems like they may have a point. Don’t dismiss unless you KNOW you are correct.

We shouldn't turn a blind eye to the risks, and we should try to educate the anti-vaxers about them. But they're not right.

There is a risk in getting the vaccine. There is a much higher risk in not getting vaccinated and catching the virus (which seems to be almost a certainty at this point).

The last 70 weeks have seen 100,000 hospitalisations of under 18s, 18,000 in the last three weeks.

Most of the people hospitalised and dying were unvaccinated.

Unfortunately natural selection acts on viruses way faster than it does humans and when the virus infects more people because they aren't mutated, it gets more opportunities to mutate into new variants that the vaccines are less effective against (and we all pay for it).

If you're healthy and young, there's no need for a vaccine especially for guys under 24 cause there's many cases of them getting myocarditis and dying from the vaccine.
