Why are the vaccinated more scared of getting sick from covid, than the unvaxxed?

So I think vaccinated people are more scared due to the fact that they generally are the ones that are taking this pandemic more seriously than those that are unvaccinated (without good medical reasoning).

I've been vaccinated and I have received all of my boosters. I am also an ICU nurse. I am afraid of getting sick. I am afraid of my unvaccinated patients getting me sick. I'm afraid of bringing that virus home to my partner. Or spreading it to my friends. I'm afraid of it killing me.

Yes, I am afraid. Because I have seen first hand what this virus does to a human being.

If you look at the graph the people who are scared the most of getting SICK are the vaccinated with booster. We know they are the least likely to get sick. My question is why are they the most scared ( in general) when they know they are the most protected?

Well, I answered it in the first part of this post.

The people who are vaccinated are taking this pandemic seriously. People who are actively not getting vaccinated are not taking this pandemic seriously. They aren't afraid of getting sick because to them, they don't see this virus as a big thing or something they should be worried about.

It's quite possible to take something seriously and not be afraid. Fear solves nothing, it only places you at a greater risk of infection since it lowers your immune system.

I was vaccinated last October for the sole purpose of getting on a cruise ship. No vaccination meant no cruise. COVID has already wasted two years of my traveling time, so if getting the shot means being able to get on with my life- foreign travel being an important part of my life- so be it.

As to why they're more scared, it's a matter of self-selection: those more prone to fear are those more prone to taking it. Those of us who haven't are more likely to be willing to take our chances with Covid.

Most people who are unvaccinated don't think that covid is serious or even real, so they're not scared, whereas people who are taking steps to protect themselves and others (vaccinated people) are more likely to be concerned.

I never used a face mask correctly, neither did the people in my household. We don't believe in that bs, we won't get any shots. Close family members who were vaccinated are actually saying they won't get the other two shots because of the sudden heart problems and other issues some of them are getting.
