Is yoga generally targeted for elder men/women or people who want to lose weight?
I'm skinny so I don't know how yoga will improve my health?
Being skinny doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean you are fit, just thin...want to know the difference...look at a runway model...and then look at Jessica Biel. Biel is fit, those ugly scrawny stickfigure runway models not hot at all, not healthy at all..Yoga is about definiton of your muscles tone. It improves your blood pressure, body strength, and endurance. It will make you a better lover too because of your higher fitness level. Anyone any age can and should practice yoga. It is great for elderly because it is low impact high resistance...remember to FLEX every muscle as you move it...this is what makes yoga hard...its not just moving slow and gliding your arms and legs around...you should be flexing every single muscle that is moved...THATS the exercise of it, and yes you will lose weight, slower than if you were swimming daily...but yoga is so good for you.
Yoga is for anyone. I did yoga when I was 16. It is a great way of meditating and finding peace...I also had...KILLER 8 pack abs...uuuh. I should really get back into it! It gives you such a good sweat!
Yoga is meant to bring inner peace, as well as flexibility in your muscles. Anyone can take yoga regardless of age or size. It can help some to become more motivated to eat better, and since it also releaves stress it can help a person loose weight. It is not the best method for loosing weight, although if it can help you balance your emotions and eat better in this way it can help you loose weight.
I knew this girl in high school who was starting to get chubby. I saw her a year later and she looked fantastic, she had lost a lot of weight. I was so surprised that I asked her what happened, she told me she started doing yoga and it inspired her to eat better etc.
So there you go, it can very much help you loose weight but only while paired up with good eating habits and such.
I do yoga almost every night. I'm trying to lose weight, but the yoga has helped in more ways than just being physical exercise. As corny as this sounds, it has made me more in touch with my body. It's also really relaxing. Now that I do yoga, I sleep like a baby instead of tossing and turning, stressing out about random things. I feel a lot better than I did before.

Really?! I never see fat people or elderly people at yoga. It's always skinny women in their 20's and 30's when I have gone.
It increases strength and flexibility. It also improves mental health.
Yoga is one of the hardest exercises there is.
I'm sorry but can you add on to your response? I don't think your response answered any of my questions. Thanks
