What clothes are appropriate to wear at the gym?

Clothes that are typically marketed for women to wear at the gym are seen as “attention-seeking”, “slutty”, and overall are deemed inappropriate. So, what should women wear to remain “modest” yet comfortable?

I can't stand wearing anything tight against my skin during a workout, so when I see chicks do it... of course, I assume they're doing it for attention. Look at those pants and tell me that's not trying to show off a butt. I wouldn't want to be sweating in something like that... you'll get zits, and it will make you sweat even more.

I guess I can't judge because I work out at home. I just freeball it in some loose shorts and don't wear a shirt... Sometimes just in my boxers, less laundry for later ;-)

If you strictly follow the meaning of the work gymnasium, you shouldn't be wearing any clothes. The root of the word is the Greek work "gymnos" (γυμνός) means "naked".

If you want to look modest, how about wearing loose-fitting clothes... top and shorts.
