My boyfriend told me that I should go back to braces and I asked him if he just saying that because I was skinnier back then and he stayed quiet?

I had braces when I was 16 basically a minor. He stayed quiet when I asked if he just thought i looked cute with braces on because I was skinnier why did he stay quiet? I have no idea what his ideal body type is. Ever since I started college it’s like everything has gone downhill including my weight I don’t know how to lose weight anymore and I haven’t been able to get a job that’s not factory or warehouse related. Ever since I turned 18 reality hit me in the face, working this labor jobs, having financial issues, everything. And my weight is really bad I am approximately 77kg and I used to be 55-56 kg when I was 16 I’ve really been struggling everything has been going downhill :( I don’t want to keep gaining weight but I’ve been too depressed to exercise.
