Need help bed rotting, any suggestions?
To briefly summarize my life, I live with my parents and work part-time as a cashier at Lowe's. My amazing, kind, and supportive boyfriend helps me get through my feelings of depression. The only things that really make me happy right now are seeing my boyfriend and going to the gym (I'm a bodybuilder) - I want to get back into art because I am a poet and fine artist as well as having created films in the past, but my hours at Lowe's have been extremely slow lately, like I go several days in a row without working.. and most of the time I have my alarm set to get up early and end up just laying in the bed until 12pm wasting most of my day because I'd rather just bed rot? Any advice would be helpful?
Not sure if this will comfort the situation; how you feel, but
I’ve done a bit of that in the past and honestly it doesn’t go better either..
Your body does need movement..
You can get blood clots, heart problems, gain some weight or lose. Blood problems and bowel problems.
The skin can go through changes and headaches can develop from lack of consistency in sleep schedule.
Just doing little things will feel like a major work out, and it’s possible you can end up developing a difficult time with ‘downing’ food.
You have to use them to keep them healthy and all.
I never stayed in bed so long but others have developed bed sores and matted hair.
It’s super important to keep active, even if hours are slow I recommend walking outside and getting fresh air. Or using the gym treadmill with some tv music or chats with any seemingly friendly gym goers you could befriend possibly.
I don’t know if you have any pets or family pets, you could consider watching a pet for a family member or take up dog walking for extra profits. Maybe a lap dog or cat to keep you company while pet sitting and writing/typing and some mini refreshers? 🏋️♀️
Just make sure any dog sitting or dog walking gig is credible and safe. Better for bigger cities but still a possibility. Kind of like that one lady from kings of Queens? The show? Their friend was a dog walker in New York.
if you’ve seen bolt, you’ve seen another female dog walking and bolt encountered them while he broke out of the studio. I believe that was New York as well.
Either way it’s still a job option/possibility/opportunity.
Watch some nice movies but try to get out after a good one, pace yourself, or watch and eat at the kitchen or living room to spice it up a bit. Definitely try to get out more.
Either to hang if you desire that, or just for yourself and move things. Don’t associate getting up and getting out with unwanted responsibilities or tasks because then you of course wouldn’t want to get up and go out! Lol
getting up and going out can be a good thing. I’ve definitely been there. When I was obtaining my license my dad let me borrow his care for the day and I had some extra fresh crash on hand. I decided to go to a luxurioussss lol Barnes and noble to preview any nice literature. And I also got myself a drink and snacks from the dollar store and bought myself my very own gold utensil set from target.
I even walked in with music playing on my phone and didn’t care if anyone heard. I just kept it loud enough not to disturb people and enjoy for myself. It was a VERY nice time. Another time I had gotten a Starbucks coffee and sandwich. Two of my faves but rare purchases.
I TREATED myself and it was a 10/10 day
Why? Because I did what I WANTED and I didn’t ask or give any reason to anyone. I was intentional my life and my day was within my control.
I wasn’t just going out for interviews or going with other people where they wanted. I went where I wanted and that was a huge game changer.
It’s possible you feel a bit numb from waiting for better things to come along, but you have to live and take every few days to plan for that to be more real.
It doesn’t have to be days filled with anxiety or uncertainty but enjoyment. Treats. Paradise.
It’s your life so don’t waste it sis!
You have time to kill, don’t actually kill it lol
kill it on fun things. The things that put a smile on your face. For self, with pets/ friends family community/ your boo. 💖
You don’t have to have it jam packed either. Sometimes I only do one tough thing in a day and the rest I just take it slow at a pace I want. Shower, snack, treat yourself. Eat healthy practice healthcare. Self care.
I mean buy yourself some chocolates one day in the week. Why not make life romantic? An adventure? Who says it has to be boring?
yeah it can be hard but it’s hard for a lot of people. Life can be tough but humans (that includes you) are tougher.
Sometimes I didn’t have money for nice food or food I wanted. I would overeat on crap…
I decided one day I can be poor and that can be out of my hands for right now but my health is within my control. I can still decide to go for a walk. Just because I’m not rich doesn’t mean I have to be fat or dying too!
I started working out hardcore and when I couldn’t keep up I’d rest, and also invest in any affordable things I could to boost health. Instead of just water- maybe Gatorade. A protein bar.
Id budget a small diet of beef jerky, dairy, eggs and salad. All cheapest I could find. Nothing too bulky just enough to get by, and I was taking some vitamins to hold me over. Yes you can definitely eat healthy.
if you need something to fill and bulk up- try the carbs, and get the essentials in the little stuff: vitamins and flavors in some fruit or so.
You CAN do it because these systems though are tough are built for humans to partake in.
Get what you want.
DO what you want.
make it happen sis.
Even just a step a day. You’re still moving. 💪

I have chronic fatigue, anxiety and depression. I understand spending most of your day in bed. I can sleep up to 14 hours a day. Then the rest is spent in bed. Rarely going outside.
Please speak to your doctor. This could be depression or something similar. Do small walks outside, around 10 minutes a day. Help clean the house. Do exercise in bed. There are loads of YouTube videos to help you and they aren't hard or fast-paced!
Trust me I understand what it is like. The need of wanting to do something but you can't be bothered. And then the whole days go.
Try to learn something new like language or skills or try to work online they told me you can make 200$ in day
Try to find new activity in your life like swimming or running
Or even comping
