I had acne since 2017, tested and results were I have mild PCOS. I had taken pills and everything became regular and acne lessened. but I have never had clear skin since then. It's bad now. I've seen doctors given antibiotics adpalene salicylic niacinamide benzoyl peroxide lots of kind sof medication. Nothing works. Some of these acne are like tiny skin colored bumps. Some are painful pimples with puss, some are blood filled and red. Sometimes red bumps are very painful. They come one or two at a time. Now it's in forehead and chin too. Any ideas from experience? The skin colourd bumps have a blackhead type of thing in the front. They're of different kinds. I have dry skin. I'm getting very stressed out because I have always taken care of my skin. The stress is probably also making it worse. I feel conscious going out with this face. I don't even wear make up ever. Any suggestions?

Oh man girl, I can totally relate to your struggles with acne. It sounds like you've got such a mix of different types going on too, that must feel so overwhelming! PCOS can definitely make it worse, ugh.
A few things that might help - has your derm ever suggested spironolactone? I know a lot of girls with hormonal acne swear by it. It helps block androgens that contribute to breakouts.
Retinoids are good long term but can purge your skin at first. Maybe ask about microdosing or switching to a gentler one like adapalene if tretinoin is too harsh.
You could also try supplementing with zinc, it helps regulate sebum production. And probiotics too - gut health affects skin a lot!
Definitely take time for self care too when you can. Easier said than done with PCOS stress, I know. But baths, face masks, listening to happy podcasts, whatever makes you feel reassured. You're beautiful with or without clear skin. Hang in there girl, you've got this!
What did your dermatologist say?
I don’t know much about hormonal acne. Aside from topicals and the pills you’re already taking did they offer any other oral medication?
Also do you wear sunscreen? If not, you should start. If so, are you double cleansing?
Maybe look into diet as well? Sometimes certain foods can make it worse. Sometimes people have noticed staying clear of dairy helps their skin. When I decreased my meat intake, my skin started glowing. Maybe try an anti-inflammatory diet?
& also make sure you’re using hydrating serums and toners if you use them.
Sorry, I’m no professional or anything and have zero experience with PCOS
I would buy antibacterial soap, the kind the hospitals use to prevent skin infections.
I would also get tea tree oil to treat the individual blemishes.
After a hot shower, rinse your face with very cold water before drying it to shock the pores closed.
Make sure any surfaces your face may rest on are clean.
