What exercise/s should I do to lose weight? and diet?

Dear Reader/s,

I am currently overweight(140lbs and 5'2"). I wasn't really overweight before but ever since I stepped in to college I got fat. I would really love to know which diet and exercise/s should I do to effectively lose weight. For the diet, I would prefer it if it did not make me sleepy and make my immune system weaker. PLEASE SUGGEST SERIOUS ANSWERS AND NOT CRAPPY COMMENTS. Thanks.
