Trending & News That food happens to taste good, and when consuming such foods comes with emotional reinforcement (such as it helps with depression), then it can be downright addicting.
It's not so easy to stop doing things that make us feel good, even if it's causing harm. 9 times out of 10, the one thing that will get someone to adopt a new diet is not nutritional advice. It's a brand new psychological outlook on life.
If you're depressed and french fries make you happy, then knowing that french fries are bad isn't gonna stop you from eating them. You're gonna continue doing what makes you happy until the sh*t hits the fan. But once you change your outlook on life and have a new source of emotional reinforcement, whether it be by a coach or friend, that's when you see real change.
Well put
It's a form of addiction, like smoking. The sugar high makes people feel good and they don't want to go the work of starting to feel good when they exercise.
Or, they would have to separate themselves from their friends, who call them Superman when they start working out and otherwise make fun of them. Those friends, they'll see less of, once they're in the gym, and it's hard for most people to wave goodbye to their friends.
first off I do not need to lose weight. I am at a very healthy weight and am happy with my body. also for health reasons I'm forced to eat healthy. I have sugar intolerance so if I have even a normal amount of sugar I will get daylong headaches and a bunch of breakouts on my face. I tend to avoid sugar for the most part and I don't gain any weight. also I am starting to work out again just to tone things up. as for others I think they like to just pig out on their comfort food because it feels good at the time but they get themselves into a rut where they eat for comfort but the more they do that the more insecure they get, hense more need for comfort and the cycle goes on.
Lack of motivation usually. They want quick now results - which you don't get from losing weight the healthy way.
Oh, and for girls, it's also waiting for the decade where fat girls will be deemed sexier then smaller / fit girls.
There's some sort of fat girl evolution in which girls who are unhealthy and over weight are being told it's sexy.
Yet they wonder why their skinnier friends still get more attention?
I don't know - losing weight is arduous so one would definitely have to be seriously set on it to do it.
Most people like their sugary foods and lack of exercise lifestyles so.
So much for motivation.
I agree with you. Advertisers and marketeers are making fat the new normal.
Yep. Not surprising in a country where obesity is an epidemic.

yes, sure everybody knows what to do, and what no to do.
It sounds so simple. easy. But it isn't.
I don't mind going for long walks, do some zumba or run on a crosstrainer. Sometimes I do all those stuff in one day. But when you've done this for a few days, you just simply get tired, and then you eat something unhealthy and overeating.
And afterward you feel so guilty.. hate it!
Are there many heavy people in Denmark?
yes, there are some
I have no problem working out.
I work out a lot.
I just have bad willpower. IT really depends on time of the month. When it is close to my period I get a larger appetite and intense cravings and it's harder to stay away from food.
It's also from boredom or stress, that makes me eat more.
But at other times I'm very good with food. So between that and working out I'm not exactly fat. I have packed on a few pounds since the summer. Nothing major, the clothes all fit, but my belly is a little rounder, my ass is a little bigger, and my cheeks (face) are a little fuller. Probably about 5 lbs (I'm short, so 5 shows)
But I'm trying to eat less again. It's easier to stick to a diet once you start for a few days.
It's pretty much just like any other addiction. Your body gets used to the high sugar content and you need it over and over through the day...there is also a psychologically addictive component. Ingrained habits then become harder and harder to break. It doesn't help that it's the sugary, processed foods that are the cheapest and most accessible. And the biggest reason of all : laziness.
All excuses, I know but there you have it.
Stress and loneliness is my health killer. I guess I am lazy and not like gym and exercise. But now it becomes a little better, I won't eat junk food and drink after 7pm to keep fit.
because I'm a lazy puff cake. ha ha jk. I usually do work out.
Because they're tasty, and I don't need to lose weight. I might need to soon though. lol
I have chronic constipation. When every I would eat healthier I could no longer poop.
Why do I find this response mildly arousing?
Lmao... you tell me!
Working out takes effort. :-P
