Thanks for the support :)
I've lost 75 lbs but I still need to lose more?
Thanks for the support :)
First, have you been taking pictures periodically along the way? If not, I highly suggest you do. Sometimes it's difficult to see the changes in the mirror, but when you see a picture, you can definitely see it.
Keep in mind too, that the bigger you are, the less noticeable losing x amount of pounds will be. So like, going from 300 lbs to 225 lbs is going to be less noticeable than going from 200 lbs to 125 lbs---because the bigger you are, the smaller percentage of weight you've lost. (This may or may not be relevant to you, since you didn't say what weight you started out as).
My advice is to keep at it, and learn to celebrate the small changes: measure your body periodically so you can see that you're losing inches; celebrate when you go down a clothing size; celebrate when you reach a fitness goal; celebrate going down a belt loop, celebrate not getting winded as quickly when you take the stairs; etc.
Lastly, there IS a psychological side to weight loss. I lost a lot of weight, as well. Being a "fat person" was part of my identity for a long time, and it took quite some time to no longer see myself as that person.
Hey, don't get down on yourself! 75 pounds is a very serious amount of weight to loose and something that few people can accomplish. You are in elect company!
Here's a little advice to keep you going:
1. Keep doing what you're already doing, it seems to be working great. Don't focus on the end goal, but rather the steps you've already been taking to be successful.
2. Enlist the help of those who support you, be it other folks that are losing weight, group fitness classes, your friends, family and others. Emotional support is very important for your long-term well-being.
3. Check in with your doctor. He or she can give you advice not just on weight loss, but also give you an emotional checkup to make sure your mind is supporting your body's goals.
If you need anything else, let us know! Losing weight and getting healthy is something you've been doing fantastic at. Whomever you are, I am proud of you, as is anyone who has overcome any challenge in their lives.
You lost 75lbs, there's nothing to worry about. Well, actually there is. You're doubting yourself! Keep going! You are doing a great job. Losing a massive amount of weight is a process that can take at least a few years to fully see change. Staying the course is so important.
You will see change. Others will see change. I guarantee you will, that is, if you continue to do the right things and strive to improve yourself along the way.

Cool. You can do it. I lost over 1/3rd of my body weight. It takes self kindness and being loving to yourself - most importantly optimistic expectation that your weight loss trend will continue. It took you a LONG time to be 150lbs overweight, it's going to take a long time to lose it all. And you don't want to lose too quickly, as your skin won't have enough time to shrink. 1-2lbs a week. By next thanksgiving, you'll be there.
Hope. Optimism. Positivity.
