You want to burn more calories than you take in. Everything you do burns calories; sitting, breathing, talking, etc. However, most of these activities don't burn more than a few calories in an hour. You really want to add in workouts to help boost your metabolism, tone your body and gain muscles, as well as its an easy way to burn a lot of calorires. Cardio is definitely your best bet! Make sure you push yourself every workout, if you're not sweating and feeling it then you aren't doing much. If you use machines, put the resistance up! If you aren't running then raise the incline.
Make sure you have a healthy, balanced diet. You want to pay special attention to your portions. You want to ideally have 5 small meals that are healthy. Stay away from processed foods. Prepare all of your meals yourself whenever you can. Eat lean meat, chicken and fish but nothing fried. You want it baked or grilled. Get a lot of veggies/fruits in. Basically just stick to all natural foods and prepare things yourself. Have common sense when it comes to things. For instance; butter, sugars, fried foods, etc. are obviously not helpful in losing weight. Make sure you drink a lot of water. You want to stay away from things filled with sugar. Read the ingredients. If sugar is listed in the first few things then put it down.

i take a boxing class twice a week, and its a lot of fun. Its hard at first, but after the first few classes it becomes a routine.

This is a link to bodybuilding.com weight loss forum, its an amazing resource for ways to get in shape no matter what goal you have. Be sure to check the sticky's at the top of the threads as they will have most of the answers you are looking for. It seems like you will have a lot of novice questions that they answer in their FAQ.
But in short, your DIET is the most important part of losing and gaining weight. Exercise is just a form of calorie burning. So do physical activities to burn those off.
Just please DO NOT try any quick 24 cleanses or only eat one meal a day. That will NOT WORK! I cannot tell you how many times I've had women tell me how they doubled their weight after they starved themselves or how they want that hollywood diet. Understand how the body works, and you'll understand how to reach your goal.
So please read up on proper meals and diets in the thread and you will find success. Losing weight and being healthy is a lifestyle change, not a fad. Best of luck, its worth all the effort!
Realistically speaking you shouldn't expect to lose more than ~2 lbs (1kg or so) of body fat a week. There are ways to see results quicker than that but they're generally not safe and could cause long term damage to you. Usually when you lose more than that it's water weight you're losing.
The question is, are you willing to resign yourself to losing only 1-2 lbs a week and keeping it safe and healthy or do you want to be like every other girl out there and do stupid and unsafe things to see even faster results?

This question has been asked over a million times. Get your diet right and exercise every day - NO EXCUSES.
Stop eating bad foods. You know what bad foods are. If you don't, do some research. Join a gym and go every day. Don't piddle paddle around and walk on a treadmill for an hour and think you've done good. High intensity cardio is what burns fat, not the "coast for 5 hours" mentality.Don't worry about it lol I live in Cali and I swear all body types wear bikinis here. Just rock your confidence and you will always look good :)
Eat only fruits and vegetables and drink water. Consume nothing else AT ALL.
Then go out & run!Laxatives.
Or better yet, dump your boyfriend. 150 pounds gone in a flash. If you look anything like you do in your photo, your fine. You don't need to lose a pound.
