Cooking for a guy for the first time, what do you make?

So girls, if you want to impress a guy by cooking for the first time and you really liked it, what would you make?

What's your most impressive meal?

Okay. Say the guy loves meat and pasta, doesn't like that many vegetables and isn't that much of a sweet tooth.

Alright well, I'd hope he likes some veggies because my Kale Soup is incredible (my boyfriend's Portuguese family said it's some of the best they've had), and that would be the opener. For the main meal depending what kind of meat he likes I'll bake up some salmon with some lemon garlic zest and bread crumbs for crunch, or some chicken (marinade depends upon what he likes) or grill some steaks (again, the marinade depends on his tastes). As for sides, I generally have two: some corn, or mashed potatoes and fresh biscuits (or Portuguese rolls). Then for desert I'll finish with something that's sweet but not too much so- cinnamon toasted apples, or some banana bread, or pumpkin bread if he prefers that.

I grew up cooking so that's a pretty basic meal to make for me. Once I get to know his tastes better I'd get fancier, experiment a bit, that kind of thing.

Oh, strangely enough I can drink pretty much any kind of soup. Except for pea soup, ugh. I hate asparagus, but my grandma used to make such tasty, tasty asparagus soup.

What are Portuguese rolls? And cinnamon apples is already to sweet for me.

papo Secos they're called in Portugese, they're simple rolls but they're absolutely incredible with just a hint of butter or I can't believe it's not butter.

There are no asparagus or peas in Kale Soup. There's Chicken Broth, Beans, Kale, Linguica, a little bit of Onion, some Garlic, pepper, salt, paprika, potatoes and a few other spices.

Then banana bread it is. It's very moist and is no sweeter than your average banana and delicious on it's own or with butter or a bit of jam or something.

Not sure - depends on what he'd like. If I had to pick it would probably be steak, spaghetti, or some type of seafood dish.

My father is really good at cooking, so he's taught me some tasty recipes, spice things, and get the meats tender and juicy :P

I'd probably make cheesecake for desert because it's even better when it's homemade and blend a tasty jalepeno margarita for us to sip on ( yes jalepeno margarita, it's pomegranate, lime, a bit of strawberry, tequila with jalepenos floating around in it. Absolutely delicious. The hint of spice from the jalepenos just make em taste so exotic and yummy.)

I'm pretty good around the kitchen, so whatever he's up for I could throw together, and there's always the internet too if he has a specific dish in mind that I don't know how to make.

Homemade lobster ravioli with a lobster bisque styled sauce? Herbal garlic bread for a side and a cold blend of fruit salad?

Ravioli is the one pasta I don't like. :D Maybe yours could be really tasty, but I don't like the general filling of ravioli. Rest sounds good, although there's some fruits I don't like either.

what?! oh I love ravioli lol, it would be filled with lobster meat, not beefy stuff. Though I hear some people just don't like the texture of biting into something that appears solid and having stuff shoot out of it :P lol your picky

Extremely picky. But on the upside I don't have any allergies. However your ravioli sounds tasty. Isn't it expensive though?

That's good, I have slight allergy to penus and bananas ( oddly enough) it is pretty good, not too expensive, just need the lobster meat really which is around 20 or so bucks.

a spaghetti dinner is pretty easy to make, if you have the extra cash you could add a salad and some garlic cheese bread..

Meat and pasta kinda guy...

I'd make him pork chops or ribs whichever he would like the most.

Cut some potatoes up to be round and in the oven it goes with the ribs/pork chops.

For dessert we would eat some chocolate covered strawberries with white wine, if he doesn't like the chocolate, whipped cream works.

would ask them what they like..then make it...if you don't know...probably should ask some guys are allergic to things or don't like certain things. but if you've seen something or have a inkling of what they like then you should try to do that.

I can make it super spicy or mild, I'd ask him first, but personally I adore spicy.

I like slightly to mildly spicy. Being raised in Western Europe I wasn't exposed to much spicy food. Most spicy we got was my father putting a lot of black pepper on his meat.

I love the taste of pepper by the way.

spaghetti with ground beef and italian sausage. you can have french bread with parm on it for the bread. you can get some great spaghetti recipies on allrecipies.com
