It would take a biochemistry lesson to talk about how that can cause acne, so I'll just say in your case it seems that reducing high glycemic load foods has reduced your acne. You can go look up glycemic loads of foods to determine which ones to avoid.

Yeah, it's quite conceivable. If you're eating more nutritious food chances are you're probably getting more vitamins (vitamin A, for example, helps maintain normal skin health). Also, if you have food allergies or sensitivities, avoiding those foods might help your skin.
If I don't exercise and get a good sweat on regularly I'll start to break out. I don't know if there's a scientific reason behind it but it's always been this way for me.

Your mood may improve, your digestion aswell (less constipated, using the toilet more often)If you are getting proper nutrition then it's realistic to believe that your body would respond in a positive way. Eating ice cream and chocolate then calling it a day will certainly leave you feeling less than stellar.
