Try out! If you don't, you may regret it later on. You'll wonder what may have happened if you had just tried. I wish I had been able to play high school volleyball, but I was cut two years in a row. It was upsetting for me, because I really wanted to play in high school. But, the team was extremely political and I was not on the inside because I hadn't played club league. I only played for them my freshman year, and was a manager my sophomore year after being cut. I played club for one season after my freshman year, but it was not on thehigher end of competition because we couldn't afford it. My junior year I was cut and asked to be manager again, but I declined that offer because I was very mistreated the year before when I chose to do that. My senior year, I wasn't informed that the tryouts were changed, so I talked to the coach and principal for me to be allowed to practice with them once and see if she would take me. She left the practice and did not even watch me play, and then never got back to me. She go a lot of hell from the principal for it. It was all very political and she grooms her teams. I never liked the woman, but I still wanted to play for her just to play.
My point is, you obviously enjoy playing, so go for it. You can work hard and improve. Even if you get cut again, just practice on your own, and play for fun. Don't let getting cut once shoot you down. I always went back to tryouts every year, even if I had been cut the year before. You have to go after what you want. If you get cut in high school, so be it...you still have college, and you can always play thegame for yourself. I play on a coed adult community volleyball league right now, simply because I love playing. I also go to as many open volleybll gyms as I can, and I plan to play intramurals when I start college. I just love playing...that's what it's about. If you love it, try out and never stop going for it.

I think you might as well try out. What have you got to lose? Plus, you'll have more experience if you try out in high school and get in, than if you just try out for college later :)
Just play. I didn't play when I was a freshman or sophomore but I started when I was a junior and got scholarships to D-2 schools but I didn't take them cause I went to a bigger school for pre-med. Your height might be a problem though.. but I was 6'4 playing guard so I don't know what to tell you.
