good diet or not?
And I've already made up my mind on the diet. I was just looking for opinions
But hey, at least I'll be thin
I don't think that is a good diet as not only is it unbalanced but you probably won't stick to it.
If you happen to stick to it for a week, how much longer will you be able to take it?
You need variety in your meals, not constantly filling yourself with salads - you'll get bored.
You may be able to lose weight within a week or two just eating salads and exercising, but sooner or later you'll jump back into your old habits as you'll find your new diet to be very strict and very boring.
Changing yourself to follow a new diet needs to happen slowly.
Your body needs a balanced diet.
If you want to lose weight, you just got to lower the fat, oil and sugar intake and increase the fruit & veg, protein and good carbs. Also eat in smaller portions and exercise regularly.
You can have protein like salmon, tuna, beans, eggs
You can add unsweetened Greek yoghurt to your fruit
Vegetable soups are good
Wholegrains like brown rice and whole wheat pasta can help
Search the web and find other foods/great healthy meals you can have.
It's a slow process, it's not going to happen over night
Oops, didn't see your update until now ahaha.
moderation is healthier. lose it slowly so your body is not in shock with a new diet. then the weight will stay off.
i have been on lunch salad diet for over a year, I lost 9 lbs. I am happy with the result. I am still eating what I like other times. of course, a balance of protein, green leafy veges., fruit, very little crab. little fat, little treat now and then. I am happy with the result.
low on sweets and salt
if you also exercise, it would be even better.
and like everyone else said, protein...eggs are good too.
I completely forgot about hard boiled eggs!
That's perfectly fine imo...make sure to add some protein to those salads.
As you probably now Ms. Couture, there are ways to add protein without adding much fat or carbs at all.
Need some ideas? :)
no. 450 calories is way way too little. Go check a BMI calculator, most advise you on what an absolute bare minimum is- it won't be 450 unless you're about 2 foot tall
You'll end up like this lion:
lmao
At least I'll be thin

That's not smart. You need to incorporate some sort of protein into your diet at least. There are plenty of positive theories about no carb diets. I personally would at least have a low carb such as sweet potatoes, wheat pasta or brown rice incorporated in. A pure salad diet is going to make you frail and weak long term. By the way, olive oil & apple cider vinegar are low cal and a couple of the great dressings you could use. A diet shouldn't make you miserable, in fact it should just be a lifestyle change to a healthy and moderated diet. This diet is something short term which will cause you to most likely gain the weight back quicly after you've lost it. Good luck.
salads are good yes. hardboiled eggs, chicken breast/tuna, whole grain pasta, tomamtoes you can have the complex carbs & good protein diet. it doesn't ever need to be the same. and all the vitamins from veggies. and spinach is so good for you too. ru trying to loose weight though? 450x3 isn't a lot for a boy, especially if you work out
No, you need to take in a minimum of 1200 calories per day. Your body needs a balance of carbs, protein and fat. Chances are, the amount of protein you would be adding to the salad wouldn't be enough protein for your day.
Your diet will force your body to burn fat for energy, throwing you into a state called Ketosis which is damaging to your kidney and brain.
Just eat a balance of whole grain, protein, fruits and veggies.
I eat salads every day. Only thing different I do from your plan is get lots of protein.
then you'll be thin and healthy. Tuna and Tofu are both great.
indeed
if I don't get out of shape I'll be healthy
You won't get a complete protein from that. You should eat grains and beans/legumes.
I can only imagine how weak your body is going to feel if your not getting any protein with that.
Not enough variety of nutrients I'd think. Add beans or chicken maybe?
What about protein, what about grains
Pretty terrible.
