there are basic life skills that every adult should have. Everyone needs clean clothes, so everyone needs to learn to wash and maintain them. Everyone needs to keep their body clean, so they need to learn to properly handle that. Everyone needs to eat, so, they need to learn to make responsible decisions about food, and how to prepare it. This is not a gender issue.
There are few things more pathetic than an adult that screens their potential partners on the basis of how good of a "replacement mommy" they might be. It's unimportant to me if a girl can cook or not, I can handle that quite well myself. I'm much happier with a girl I can talk and laugh with, and break down like a shotgun over the back of the couch LOL

I think she hasn't taken the time to learn... If she has the internet she should be able to learn just like anyone one else. It's one thing to be able to distinguish different flavors in a dish, and to understand how they meld with each other or to artistically create something new. It's an entirely different thing to follow instructions. Anyone can learn the mechanical motions to follow instructions. Not everyone has the creative genius and knack for flavors and cents that a great chef might have.
Anyone can make a basic and satisfying meal if they can read and follow directions. I never attempted to cook full meals until my parents and I started the Atkins diet. Now I cook most meals, or at least throw out ideas if I don't have the time to do it. Almost every dish I've made has been excellent. I read recipes... but am starting to experiment a little and that's gone well so far.

For me it is perfect. I love to cook (and to eat out) and as I did with my wife, I love to share my knowledge and love of cooking. Normally I cook the majority of time and once a week (average) she cooks a new dish that she has had or learned. IT is fun, sexually arousing and a learning experience for both of us.
I grew up in an Italian household and all the men know how to cook, clean and do laundry.Well, you're still fairly young. By the time a girl hits 18-20, she ought to know how to cook. I like it when a girl cooks for me, plus it shows that she doesn't expect to be taken out to restaurants all the time.
I never really looked at it as a requirement. I mean, if she can, that's awesome because I have great appreciation for that talent. If not, no big deal.
I'm fine with it. It's the imperfections that make someone so perfect. And I also like to cook. It would be a plus if she was willing to learn to cook maybe.
Major turn off, because she doesn't meet the typical man's requirements.
1. Be able to cook.
2. Be able to clean.
3. Be able to provide sex.I'm cool with my wife, and she can't cook. She never had to, always had someone to do it for her.
A lot of girls I knew could not cook..so I learned how..and I have always been the primary cook in our house...(:(:(:
can she at least clean? lol jk. It would be a plus if she wanted to help me cook or was interested in taking a cooking class.
That's fine. If I wanted a cook, I'd hire one. I want a girl, not a chef.
At your age, that's expected. If you were much older, that would be a problem.
It isn't THAT big a deal, its a huge plus in my books if a girl can cook.
It's a bit of a let down, to be honest. But it's OK I guess.
I dated dozens and dozens of women and I think I only dated one or two that could cook. I am a good cook so it is all good.
Nope. I'd rather a girl who can cook.
