I was told that the weight was coming off way fast. Is 5lbs a lot of weight to lose per week?
If so, what should I do? Should I slow down? Or should I continue what I've been doing? My goal is to lose 10lbs more
Help
A one to 2 pound weight loss per week is considered healthy. But, extenuating circumstances can permit even greater loss per week safely.
First, how's you fluid consumption? Drinking lots of water? If not, you could be losing lots of water weight and not as much fat. That's one reason I have a high level of water consumption, I sweat like Niagra Falls when I workout and I want to rule out water loss as a factor.
Sometimes an initial weight loss can be rapid, as if there is "fluff fat" that easily burns away, could be what you are experiencing too.
Unless you feel any dizziness, light-headedness, excessive fatigue, I would say stick with it.
I drink lots of water, Mainly water, Even before every meal. I only stray with a glass of unsweetened green tea while I eat dinner.
I sweat a lot too Lol.
Thank You :)
haha wow. first I am very impressed. If you are heavy your BMR is higher, so with just a little dieting and a bit more exercise the fat will just melt off. If you're heavy I don't think 5pounds a week is applicable - most people say 1-2 pounds per week is healthy but heavy guys man, they can lose 20-30 pounds a week.
I say get to your goal and then you can maintain!
Remember. anorexia is defined as 15% below your body weight, or a BMI of 64 in 3 weeks! That's 12 pounds :D I"m going to add you, you have to show me show you're doing it please.
that's too much for one week, I doubt you're losing fat, its probably all water weight.
the max you should lose per week for a permanent weight loss is 2 lbs, heck the recommended amount of weight you can lose is 5 lbs per MONTH.
you're gonna gain it all back.
I'm currently 5'6 136 lbs and trying to get down to 125 lbs by (ideally) March 2013, and I promised myself to treat myself well and not go on a dramatic diet. I'm trying to LIVE and LOSE WEIGHT for once.
You know nothing about my eating or exercising routine and you yourself say "the max you should lose per week for a permanent weight loss is 2 lbs" but then you say "I doubt you're losing fat, its probably All water weight", "you're gonna gain it all back"
You can take your negative comment and your spite and you can Eat It. Just because you are still fat doesn't mean no one else is in this world is dared allowed to have any success.

Ok how are you doing it? I have been stuck increased my excersise and have lost inches but no lbs in 3 weeks

depends how much you weigh at the start. if your really over weight at the start of your exercising routine you'll end up losing quite a bit at first. things eventually tend to plateau at some point. in 5 months I've lost 35 pds. still wanna lose another 35. say right now iam losing one pd a week right now
The initial weight loss is a lot because you're shedding water weight, and a drastic change in your lifestyle like that, takes time for your body to get used to.
This fast weight loss...it will slow down steadily as your body adjusts. You're not losing it too fast! :-D
You mostly lost water. Your body can only burn like 2.5 lbs of fat a week, and that's really pushing it.
It's easier to drop pounds the first few weeks, then it should gradually slow down, otherwise it's not healthy.
Too much. That's how people get stretch marks.
