For USA users: Do some American accents hurt your ears?

Anonymous
I live in Australia and we just had this new guy start at work. I'm not sure which state of the USA he's from, but when he speaks, he hurts my ears. Some adult men are naturally "boomers" when they speak, but this guy is something else! You can hear him anywhere in the store. I noticed when I travelled that a lot of Americans seem to speak really loudly. I was wondering if certain accents, or people from different states may do this? My name is Lisa, and he calls me Liserrrrrr. His accent is pretty heavy (to my ears).

In Australia, we have "bogans" who generally fit that stereotype of "oi mayte, throw a shrimp on the barby!", they have a really strong Australian accent that really stands out to most of us and they tend to be loud. Is this guy at work an "American bogan?"

I realize that some people might get upset by my post, in advance I'm sorry, but maybe don't worry and get over it (haha), I'm just curious and mean no harm.

Ha, this is fun. I like all American accents, Southern accents are kind of sexy. The only accent that annoys me is New Zealand. Probably a bit like the Canada-USA "thing" over there.
