Baking soda = Sodium bicarbonate. It's an ionic compound and dissociates in water into sodium and bicarbonate... High levels of bicarbonate in your diet can cause heartburn, stomach ulcers, higher acidity in your blood, etc. Our bodies transport CO2 (carbon dioxide) through the body as bicarbonate. It's a wast product of cellular respiration that we breath out as CO2. If your blood CO2 levels get too high/blood gets too acidic, you can be effected by acidosis. High sodium diets also can effect your health. So problems people suffer from that are on high sodium diets include but are not limited to high blood pressure, water retention, cirrhosis, kidney disease, and a build-up of fluid in people with congestive heart failure.

I do something similar. When I'm on a diet I always smear a little of my feces in the pan. I think it's far healthier than baking soda - not to mention more flavorful.

That's called starvation and she will put the weight back on as soon as she stops, lol. Why not tell her to, I don't know, go to a gym? Some girls are f***eddddd.
