Eye Contacts: Wear Them All the Time or Occasionally

Just curious how many people wear contacts all the time or occasionally, like during social gatherings, work, school, etc.?

I only wear them occasionally for things mentioned above and wear my glasses when I'm home. For some reason, I'm not a big fan of them (used to love them but not so much anymore).

I'd totally wear my glasses all the time if it wasn't for my broken nose which makes the glasses look lopsided and very awkward. My contacts seem to dry out pretty fast and I seem to feel a lot more sleepy with them. Hopefully once I get the nose fixed, I'll be able to rock them (glasses).

So how about y'all?

Thanks for the answers everyone! Enjoyed reading them all. Just an update: I'll be going to the eye doctor soon to get some glasses as I've decided contacts just aren't for me anymore. I'll still wear them occasionally but glasses will be my go to. :)

I wear my contacts all the time; I put them in when I wake up and take them out when I go to sleep, even if I'm really not going anywhere. For your dryness, I would suggest some good eye drops! For me though, contacts were always more comfortable; glasses would constantly slide down or I would only be able to see through the lenses. Contacts allow me a wider range of vision, plus, I feel like people can see my face better.

I wore glasses for 4 years and contacts for 1; so far, I much favor my contacts, but, who knows, maybe that will change :).

I wear my glasses all the time even though I could switch to contacts. I'm just way too lazy and not vain enough to wear contacts. As you said, they make you feel sleepy and hurt your eyes.

I found that I had to teach myself to blink lots with my contacts. Also, drink lots of water :) I still wear glasses, as contacts aren't always perfect and sometimes I like to give my eyes a rest. And sometimes it's nice to see the world differently.

You might talk to your eyedoctor and see if they can get you a different brand of contacts.

You might also talk to your eyedoctor about reshaping your glasses to fit better on your face. They are generally pretty good about being able to do that.

I wear them occasionally. There are really just 2 main reasons:

- my eyes may be too tired to put them on in the morning or if it's later in the day, I don't feel like putting them on when I go out

- variety is the spice of life. Whether it's going to work or going out with friends or family, I'll decide if I want to wear contacts or my glasses. I like the idea of having a different look on a day to day basis. Even if it's something as simple as glasses or no glasses.

I wear them when I'm going out for a few hours. That includes school, work, shopping, restaurants etc. So I won't bother at home, the supermarket or when I'm walking my dog. It's just more convenient to be out without glasses. So I wear them pretty much all the time.

well I have one bad eye (120/20 in my left eye) and as such only wear one contact (the glasses would be huge on left side and tiny on right side pretty much like wearing a monacle) but I forget to wear them most of the time so yeah I only wear them seldomly

I used to wear them like for 2 years straight, every day. I have glasses now so I wear them and feel great with them, but before I wore contacts. My eyes got very tired of contacts. Now mostly on some social gatherings or when something job related then I have to wear them also. I wore them a lot before because I didn't have glasses then so I just wore the contacts and later got glasses for myself.

I only wear my contacts when I'm going to be super active but need to see perfectly... usually this means concerts or outdoor events.

Otherwise, I'm more comfortable with glasses, because I really only need them for distances, so I'm constantly slipping them on and off throughout each day.

i do not require prescription lenses but I sometimes wear colored contacts or circle lenses for pics and special occassions

The same as you, I only wear eye contacts in special occasions. I prefer wearing my glasses all the time

I wear mine all the time. The contacts I wear are the ones that you can wear for a month straight (including going to sleep with it) and then you just throw it away and put a new pair on after the month is over.
