I think I might have pinkeye...should I still see my therapist?

okay so this morning I woke up and my eyes were crusted shut. and it just got worse from there. but I haven't been out of the house in over a week and no one else has it. so I know this can be very contagious, but I have my therapist appt tomorrow. and I haven't seen him in over a month so there is a lot we need to talk about. but if this is pinkeye and I am contagious...i don't want him or his staff sick.

so today I went to the walk-in. was gonna go Friday but it got better; yesterday it got worse again. so the doc told me I had pinkeye(conjuctivitis); surprise, surprise. and while he was talking it hit me: last week, while taking a shower, I dropped a blob of shampoo on my closed eye. chemical-caused irritation. so now I have to use eyedrops and if it's not better by Thursday to see my eye doctor. and he told me I could have kept my therapist appt, as long as I didn't touch anyone without...

...washing my hands first. and this doc is my fave one there! the only doctor I would ever give a 10/10 to. now I'll just be more careful in the shower

Call his office and ask him what he wants you to do. You should call your doctor, pink eye rarely goes away on its own.

you should go see a doctor not a therapist, it seems unusual to have pinkeye at age 30 don't you think

Not really, I know someone who is in their 40's who gets it occasionally.

You sure that's the herpes simplex I thought people developed immunities to pink eye

maybe they can, but this is my first time getting it as far as I know.

Going about your business would be irresponsible while you are so contagious.

but I don't know for sure it's pinkeye. I read up on the incubation period and it's only a few days. so I should have gotten it sooner. and my appt is in 5hrs.

You need to assume that you are contagious. Imagine how you would feel if you later learned that your therapist and his staff and their families got infected.

don't know. but I have stuff I wrote for him to read. and it's kinda embarrasing or me to read it, which is why I wrote it own.
